Kangana Ranaut’s 2021 tweet, in which she stated that she would not run for office in Himachal Pradesh, resurfaces as she receives a ticket as the BJP candidate for Mandi.
The Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) released its fifth list of candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha 2024 elections on Sunday, which includes some well-known names such as actor Kangana Ranaut from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh. Hours later, an old Kangana tweet surfaced on Reddit, in which the actor stated that she wanted to fight the election from a’state with complexities’.
Adding that there is “no poverty or crime” in Himachal Pradesh and that the state has “a population of hardly 60/70 lakh,” Kangana, who is preparing for the release of her movie Emergency, stated that she will not run for office there. “Hypocrisy ki bhi seema hoti hai (There’s a limit to hypocrisy),” someone commented on Reddit on Sunday, reposting the three-year-old tweet.

Kangana wrote on Twitter in March 2021, “During the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, I was offered the choice of Gwalior.” There is little poverty or crime in HP (Himachal Pradesh), home to just 60–70 lakh people. Should I pursue a career in politics, I would like to work in a state with complexity, where I can excel as a role model. Big talks won’t make sense to small fry like you.

As a Reddit comment, someone said, “One thing you should know about actors and politicians – they always do the exact opposite of what they say in public.” Someone wrote, “‘Be the queen I am’ – my entire being cringed so hard OMG (Oh my god)” in response to Kangana’s first tweet in 2021.
“Kangana fits the bill among all the actors who have ever become politicians,” remarked a third. Although she was and still is a talented actor, some of her off-screen antics were quite good. However, she is a perfect example of a politician.”

How does she think of such clever lines?” One person responded to it by writing, “Just imagine the scenes in the Parliament now.” One person defended Kangana by saying, “Why is there so much hate? She is free to pursue politics if that is her desire!
