When it comes to Kollywood superstardom, Thalapathy Vijay is unrivaled, and he reaffirmed this fact with the rerelease of his previous hit film, Ghilli. The sports action movie, which Dharani directed, was released in 2004. When the movie first came out, it was well-received by critics and did quite well at the box office. Back then, it was a big commercial hit, and among Vijay’s flicks, the Dharani-directed picture is regarded as one of the greatest.

In terms of the re-release collection, Ghilli made a staggering 8 crores on its first day (Saturday) at the global box office. This resulted in the greatest global collection ever for an Indian re-release. The movie had a great showing on Sunday, earning an additional 4 crores in revenue, bringing the 2-day total to 12 crores. Tamil Nadu alone accounted for more than 7.5 crores of the total revenue.

Now, assessments indicate that Ghilli performed admirably on Monday as well. The movie’s re-release in Tamil Nadu state alone has brought in over 9 crores in its first three days of sales. Regarding the global box office, it is quite astounding that the collection has surpassed the 15 crores gross level.

Ghilli has so far amassed a respectable number of showings, and it is reported that the movie will be shown for a week. There’s a potential the run will receive an extension if the response stays strong for the week.

In the meantime, for those who are unaware, Ghilli is an official reimagining of Okkadu, a 2003 smash song by Mahesh Babu that also starred Prakash Raj and Bhumika Chawla. Prakash Raj played a significant role in the Thalapathy Vijay film, and Trisha was regarded as the film’s female protagonist.
