With the historical biographical play Savarkar, Randeep Hooda makes his directorial debut. Randeep talked about how he used his funds—including the earnings from Mumbai properties his father had purchased—to finance the film in an interview with the BeerBiceps podcast. He disclosed, “We had financial difficulties. I used the money I got to finance the movie by selling the Mumbai homes my father had saved up and bought for me. I couldn’t stop myself. Nobody supported this film.
