Spider-Man 4 is happening. It definitely is. The hype and craze have reached new heights, and we bettors will be unable to ignore them. However, there is the possibility of a much-anticipated Spider-Man 4 with director Sam Raimi and actor Tobey Maguire returning! That wasn’t something fans expected. And if the reports are correct, one thing is certain: it will rock the box office. Thomas Haden Church, one of the franchise’s well-known stars, may have dropped some bombshell speculation, causing fans to get excited.
Could Spider-Man 4 feature Maguire and Raimi?
The Spider-Man trilogy, directed by Sam Raimi, concluded in 2007. In his third installment, Spider-Man 3, Raimi introduced Thomas Haden Church as the new villain, Sandman, in 2007. Despite the expectation of a fourth installment, the project fell through. Since then, the franchise has been rebooted twice and shows no signs of revival. A ray of hope appeared when all three live-action Peter Parker actors reunited in the 2019 crossover film Spider-Man: Far From Home, which also saw Church reprise his role as Sandman. Rumors are spreading that Sam Raimi may be considering a comeback.

Church talked about the potential for a reunion of the original Spider-Man cast in an interview with a comic book. Church responded, “You know, Jack, I don’t think it’s ever gonna happen,” when asked if he would choose to play Flint or Jack once more.”
When the interviewer mentioned Secret Wars as the next project, Church responded, “You know, they’ve never asked me to show up in another movie, another Marvel film,” he said. But, you know, I believe Sam will do another Spider-Man with Tobey [Maguire], and that’s the one that… They gave me the option of doing Spiderman 4 when there was going to be a Spiderman 4. They offered me the option to return. So, if it happens, that’s great. “I’m getting older.”

How about the plot? We all know that the trilogy has come to an end. However, given that Sony and Marvel Studios are said to have different ideas about how to approach Spider-Man 4, there are rumors that Wolverine may also be involved in Spider-Man’s current story.
Is Spider-Man 4 coming?
All of these claims, rumors, and excitement lead us back to the main question: Could Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4 actually happen? Raimi has been working on a fourth Spider-Man film for a long time; at one point, Sony even pushed it into pre-production. After rejoining Marvel and directing Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the director has expressed a desire to return to Spider-Verse; however, he is unsure whether Marvel wants this to happen.
Raimi earlier told the outlet, “I love Tobey. I adore Kirsten Dunst. I believe everything is possible. I really don’t have a story or a plan. I’m not sure if Marvel would be interested in that right now. I’m not sure what their thoughts are on that. I haven’t really pursued it. But it sounds lovely. Even if it wasn’t a Spider-Man film, I’d love to collaborate with Tobey again in a different role.”
