Shaitaan, the horror film starring Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan, has continued to grow at the box office in its second week.
Shaitaan saw a very successful second week with revenue of over 35 crore. The movie made 81.60 crore in its first week and, after two weeks, has made 117.50 crore*. The movie continued to be the week’s top performer despite seeing strong growth over the weekend. This was due to the movie’s steady performance during the weekdays.
While there were other new releases from Hollywood and Bollywood as well, Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan’s horror movie received the greatest amount of attention. The movie took in 2.50 crore* on Thursday as well, and it is expected to take in more than 2 crore today.

Today saw the release of Madgaon Express and Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. While word-of-mouth should help them gain traction, it will be interesting to see if they are able to surpass Shaitaan’s first-day collections.
Given that Madgaon Express is also arriving with a BOGO offer, which does help draw in more foot traffic, there is a chance that it does occur.
Shaitaan hasn’t exactly been having an open run with no noteworthy releases, so it’s encouraging to see how it’s been gaining traction. Actually, Yodha and Kung Fu Panda 4 were released last week, and Crew will be released the following Friday. It is praiseworthy that the Ajay Devgn and Madhavan film is still attracting attention from viewers on a regular basis.
