“Shah Rukh Khan & Tabu Not Paired Opposite Each Other Is A Bollywood Blunder That Needs Rectifying RN” – 3 Thoughts I Had While Watching Saathiya In Theaters 23 Years Later!

After seeing Saathiya in theaters 23 years after its debut, we might sign a petition to prioritize Shah Rukh Khan and Tabu’s films!

It has been 23 years since Saathiya’s initial release. Please give that some thought. That was the year Adnan Sami simply won our hearts with his Udi-udi. The year that Gulzar wrote, Maarva ki raag mein, Meer ki baat ho! his pen reached its peak, but Sonu Nigam’s notes reached new heights. It was the year Shah Rukh Khan established the ideal and potential meaning of a cameo!

The film, starring Vivek Oberoi and Rani Mukerji, was an unexpected success due to its unusual storytelling, which mixed timezones and provided a fresh style for Indian audiences in a commercial picture.

I saw this Shaad Ali picture for the first time on television in 2006, and I like it. Of course, who doesn’t enjoy a Yash Raj film? And I wanted to see it in cinemas. Thanks to Mumbai, I was given this opportunity and recently watched the film 23 years after it was released.

If it remains the same, that may be the first thing you want to find out. The seeming simplicity, the annoyance, the uncertainty, the intricacies, the nearly real places? In certain sections, the answer is yes, and in others, you must stick with me through to the very end. As I watched the movie, I was thinking about a lot of things. It felt like I was seeing it today and in 2006 at the same time, in a different parallel universe, and both of these realities were coexisting in my head. It was “Everything, Everywhere, All at Once,” I assure you.

These are the main ideas that came to me 23 years after Saathiya’s premiere.

Tabu & Shah Rukh Khan’s Movie: Kahan Ho Tum?!

Since SRK and Tabu joined the industry thirty years ago, no one has ever contacted them jointly. By which I mean, how? More significantly, why? At a pivotal moment in the movie, the two superstars show up and completely alter the plot! And, whoa, what authority they have to keep the audience glued to the screen!

But there was only one thing that kept coming to mind: Why hasn’t Bollywood ever matched SRK and Tabu together? I’m still waiting for this movie. [If the Cinema Gods exist, please grant my request priority!]

Vivek Oberoi Is Strong!

One thing people used to say about Vivek was that, with the appropriate work, he could become the next Shah Rukh Khan of the film industry! As I saw him flawlessly convey his emotions with ease, I couldn’t help but agree with those who said he would become the next big thing. While his immaturity likely contributed to his downfall during those times, Vivek undoubtedly possessed the spark! I believe that referring to him as the next Shah Rukh Khan was exaggerated, but even so, he was capable of being famous back then! I wonder what went wrong with him.

The Story’s Loopholes!

This narrative, channeling my inner gossip girl, has a lot of holes! For example, this young couple now lives in a sea-facing studio room or penthouse with wooden décor after their parents ‘Bedakhal-d’ them. And there were a lot of nits and grits that might bother you and make you go WTF. But my major issue was Deena, Suhani’s elder sister (Rani Mukerji), played by Sandhya Mridul. I mean, this woman was the staunchest supporter of her sister’s affair, even after she fled to marry someone else. However, this woman fails to support her sister when she is most in need. When her parents left her.

After Suhani is evicted from her home, Dina fails to warn her about their father’s worsening health. What is this elder sister’s behavior, Deena?! I am quite disappointed in you!

I saw Saathiya in a theater 23 years after it was released, and despite all of its flaws, the picture is as fresh and innocent as it ever was. A film that simply makes you grin on a bad day, and music that brings you serenity!

But my query to Bollywood remains: Why haven’t you cast Shah Rukh Khan and Tabu together? Sign a petition to correct this grave misunderstanding!
