Momoa: Aquaman’s and future films are uncertain.

Momoa: Regarding the future of the Aquaman franchise, Jason Momoa is being candid. The actor is eager for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom to be released.

Jason Momoa has some reservations about returning to the role of Aquaman. In the soon-to-be-released Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom, which opens in theaters on December 22, the actor will portray the beloved character. However, the actor revealed in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight that he is unsure of what the future holds for the DC superhero franchise.

Jason’s words

Jason Momoa said of his role as King of Atlantis, I don’t necessarily want it to be the end… [But] I don’t think there’s a choice. He went on to say that the new DC Studios bosses, James Gunn and Peter Safran, want to start their own new thing and that the truth of it is, I mean if the audience loves [Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom], then there’s a possibility. But, right now, I’m thinking, ‘It’s not looking good.’ I adore this character and would like to play it for a very long time.

I can see where I’d like it to go. And there are a lot of cool things they can do in the next 10 years or so. And I enjoy the role as well as the world. So it all comes down to whether or not people like it.

More information

Jason Momoa first played Aquaman in 2017’s Justice League, after which he embarked on a solo franchise based on the character. Meanwhile, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom will be the final film in the DC Extended Universe, which debuted in 2013.

Jason may not be entirely certain about Aquaman’s future because the character was left out of the first wave of the DC Universe titles that were released in January of this year.

Arriving later this month, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom also stars Willem Dafoe, Nicole Kidman, Patrick Wilson, and Amber Heard. The movie was originally scheduled to open in March of this year, but its release date was moved to December.
