Dharma Productions stated in 2021 that it would recast “Dostana 2.”
The first “Dostana” film, which debuted in 2008, starred Priyanka Chopra, John Abraham, and Abhishek Bachchan in lead roles. Karan Johar revealed “Dostana 2” a few years ago, and Collin D’Cunha will direct the sequel. Kartik Aaryan, Janhvi Kapoor, and Laksh Lalwani were slated to star in the sequel to the romantic comedy.
Dharma Productions stated in 2021 that it would recast “Dostana 2.” This was announced on April 16, 2021. There were rumors that the movie was canceled due to a feud between Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar. Janhvi Kapoor recently discussed the film’s sequel.

Janhvi Kapoor is now busy promoting “Mr & Mrs Mahi.” In an interview, the actress was asked why “Dostana 2” is no longer in the works. She replied, “I truly don’t know. We even spent around 30 to 35 days shooting that video. I thought the shoot was going pretty nicely. I honestly have no idea why the film was shelved. Of course, I inquired, but I believe it was because we began filming for that feature well before Covid.” Kapoor went on to say that there was a one-and-a-half-year delay after Covid.
In the same interview with The Lallantop, Janhvi Kapoor was questioned if “Dostana 2” was shelved due to differences between Karan Johar and Kartik Aaryan. Kapoor said, “I don’t believe it was that. I feel work is critical to both of them. But you should inquire about it.
Meanwhile, it looks like Kartik Aaryan and Karan Johar have worked out their problems. Last year, they were seen together after a work meeting. It is questionable if “Dostana 2” will ever be released.
