The upcoming entertainer is unique for a number of reasons. The first and most important reason is that it marks Mahesh Babu’s return after an absence of one and a half years. He last appeared in Sarkaru Vaari Paata, which was released in May 2022. Fans are all excited to see their favorite star on the big screen, and the film is expected to get off to a great start.
Guntur Kaaram’s box-office status
Guntur Kaaram was off to a flying start when advance booking for limited shows began, but shockingly, the momentum has stalled, and there is little movement as of now.
Within the first few hours, the film crossed 60 lakhs, but according to the most recent update (as of 8:30 a.m.), the biggie has sold tickets worth only 1.70 crores in India (excluding blocked seats). It includes more than 74,000 tickets.
One of the main reasons for the low number is that shows still need to be fully allotted, as there is a stalemate between multiple releases.

For those who are unaware, Sarkaru Vaari Paata’s opening day advance booking closed at 20 crores gross (excluding blocked seats). So, Guntur Kaaram trails by 18.30 crores gross, or 91.5%.
With only two days until release, Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film will pale in comparison to his previous work.

According to a recent update, Guntur Kaaram has maintained its pace in pre-sales in the overseas market, selling tickets worth 10 crores gross for the opening day (including premieres). North America is currently leading the way among all territories.
