Animal received a lot of backlash for glorifying “misogyny.”

Following the release of Animal, a previous clip featuring Ranbir Kapoor discussing the importance of deliberate choices when selecting a character went viral. Continue reading!

Ever since his most recent movie, Animal, came out, Ranbir Kapoor has been the talk of the town.

The movie, which is generating a lot of buzz at the box office thanks to its enormous receipts, has spurred an online debate that has split netizens into opposing camps. Some people have expressed their support for the Sandeep Reddy Vanga-directed film, but there are also many who are criticizing the gangster drama extensively. In the midst of all of this, fans have rediscovered an old Ranbir Kapoor video in which he discusses choosing a character carefully.

He had another enormous hit with Luv Ranjan’s Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar, where he was paired with Shraddha Kapoor, before taking the ticket windows by storm. For more information, scroll down.

He was questioned about working with Luv Ranjan, whose films are “steeped in misogyny,” and the impression that working with him would give him during his interview with Anupama Chopra for Film Companion. “I have not been a part of those films,” he replies. You claim that the director I work with has produced a misogynistic movie. But I’m very aware of the kinds of things I do. It doesn’t go so far as to disparage society or anything that, in my opinion, is unfair. That’s not something I would do.

Because I am aware of the situation I find myself in, I must be mindful. I must be conscious of the fact that I must embody a particular set of values that I wish to convey. Thus, the movie starring Luv Rajan is not what you discuss,” he had stated.

People on the internet branded Ranbir Kapoor a hypocrite shortly after the video went viral.

In response to the post, some users exclaimed, “All talk goes in drain in front of money!!” and “He’s a hypocrite,” among other comments. Just like that. Furthermore, I never thought of him as a morally grounded artist.

“He didn’t even have the guts to accept that his Animal character is a psychopath, just called him a guy protecting his family,” wrote a third Redditor. I’m not sure if he’s evil or stupid, or both.

Regarding his career, Ranbir Kapoor is working on Brahmastra 2 and 3 alongside his real-life spouse Alia Bhatt. The director of the trilogy is Ayan Mukerji.
