The trailer and other promotional material for Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, generated a lot of excitement. The earth-shattering advance bookings show the outcome. This gangster action drama is currently playing on theaters. Let’s examine if the hype surrounding this major event has been justified.

Story:

The protagonist of the film is Ranbir Kapoor’s character, Ranvijay Singh Balbir, who will stop at nothing to keep his father, Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor), safe. Ranvijay Singh is incredibly devoted to his father, but Balbir Singh is too preoccupied with his business empire to show the same affection. After falling in love, Ranvijay moves in with Geethanjali (Rashmika Mandanna). Balbir Singh is suddenly the target of an attack. The main plot point of Animal is how Ranvijay Singh goes to great lengths to defend his father.

Bonus Points:

It’s hard to picture another actor playing Ranbir’s role in Animal. Such is the famous actor’s sheer brilliance. The protagonist is a very wild character, and playing a role like that takes a lot of conviction. Ranbir gives an incredible performance, going all out. You will leave the theaters a fan of Ranbir even if you are not, especially after that incredible dialogue scene in the end.

The movie is really captivating in the first half. Even with a long running length, the first hour hooks us in. Everything, including the character growth, action sequence staging, and high points, was done fairly well. The film’s climax occurs during the interval sequence. It is expertly filmed, and Harshavardhan Rameshwar’s amazing background score uplifts the mood.

Rashmika Mandanna played a good supporting role, and she and Ranbir have great chemistry. We never once felt like we were watching a dubbed movie thanks to the amazing Telugu dubbing. Vasu, in particular, who filled in for Ranbir, did a fantastic job. The Telugu lyrics are written neatly, and the songs are equally amazing. Good work was done by Anil Kapoor, Tripthi Dimri, Suresh Oberoi, Siddharth Karnick, and others.

Negative Points:

Similar to Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh, Animal features a lot of audacious and surreal moments. Sandeep Reddy Vanga takes the wildness a notch higher in Animal, which is sure to draw a lot of attention. The movie has a number of scenes that are sure to spark debates.

Ranbir’s character has a lot of depth, which accounts for his odd behavior in the second hour. The title makes sense because Sandeep illuminates the protagonist’s mind. This is not a common occurrence in mainstream cinema. Not everyone will find comfort in the tonal shifts that occur in the second half. In particular, some of the second hour’s content might not resonate with a large audience.

Sandeep Reddy Vanga gave Ranbir’s character a great deal of thought, but he didn’t give Bobby Deol’s character the same amount of thought. The character is underdeveloped, which makes the pre-climax face-off lack impact. Overuse of the English language can occasionally irritate people. The film eventually becomes predictable as well.

Technical Details:

Each song is excellent and masterfully shot. The filmography is well-executed. The pieces of the action set are tastefully chosen. Numerous scenes have greater impact thanks to the electrifying background score by Harshavardhan Rameshwar. A few scenes could have been cut, and the final hour’s editing could have been improved.

Sandeep Reddy is a writer-director, and he gave an unorthodox action drama. It is a very good first half that is appealing to all audiences. However, not everyone is a fan of the second-half drama between Ranbir and Rashmika and the underlying causes of their disagreement. Some groups might also find it offensive. The film is unique because of Ranbir’s portrayal, not because of the novel plot.

Conclusion:

Overall, Animal is a gripping action drama that will interest some viewers. Although there is something for everyone to enjoy in the first half, the second half’s tonal changes may not be to everyone’s taste. There may be some controversy over the graphic content and excessive violence. Animal’s core is Ranbir Kapoor, who delivered a performance deserving of an award. Animal has strong technical elements, but Bobby Deol’s characterization could have been more skillfully written. You should watch Animal if you enjoy unusual and heroic movies.
