Netflix will begin to stream “The Railway Men,” Yash Raj Films’ debut web series, on November 18.

The Railway Men: The four-episode series, which is directed by rookie Shiv Rawail and stars R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Babil Khan, and Divyenndu, is set against the backdrop of the 1984 Bhopal gas leak disaster.

The Railway Men, the first over-the-top film from Yash Raj Films, will be available on Netflix starting on November 18, the company revealed on Thursday.

The four-episode series, which stars R Madhavan, Kay Kay Menon, Babil Khan, and Divyenndu, is set against the backdrop of the tragic 1984 Bhopal gas catastrophe. It honors the unsung heroes of that tragic crisis—the Indian railway workers stationed at Bhopal station—who saved hundreds of innocent lives. Aayush Gupta is the writer and debuting director of the series, Shiv Rawail.

Extremely deadly methyl isocyanate (MIC) gas leaked from the Union Carbide India Limited (UCIL) facility in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, during the evening of December 2-3, 1984. This event resulted in the deaths of hundreds of individuals as well as the crippling injuries of several others. With thousands of confirmed deaths, it is regarded as the worst industrial disaster in history.

YRF Entertainment, Yash Raj Films’ streaming content division, presents The Railway Men. The brand and Netflix are working together on a new project called Maharaj, which stars Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan.
