Sunny Deol Accused Of Cheating, Forgery, And Extortion Following Gadar 2’s Success, Producer Claims, “My 2.55 Crores Is In Sunny Ji’s Account”

A film producer has accused Sunny Deol of cheating, forgery, and extortion, revealing the actor’s altered behavior following the success of Gadar 2.

Not everyone is pleased with Sunny Deol and Gadar 2’s success. A film producer is bringing damning claims against the Gadar actor, accusing him of cheating, fraud, and extortion. The producer also alleged that Deol increased his rates after Gadar 2’s popularity, despite being paid the signing bonus.

Actor-MP Sunny Deol is the object of shocking allegations of cheating, extortion, and forgery leveled by film producer Sorav Gupta (of Sundawn Entertainment). Gupta, a real estate developer turned producer, claimed in a press conference earlier this week that Sunny Deol took money from him in advance to film a movie in 2016, kept taking money while promising to start the project, but never finished it after his most recent film, Gadar 2, became a big hit.

Gupta told HT City that he promised to pay Sunny Deol ₹4 crore to star in his film in 2016. But he also alleged that Deol was constantly delaying the shoot and caused problems. Gupta stated, “We gave him ₹1 crore in advance, but instead of starting my film, he chose to shoot for Poster Boys (2017).” He kept demanding additional money, and by now, my ₹2.55cr was in Sunny ji’s account. He also required me to donate money to another director, book Filmistaan Studios, and hire an executive producer.” The producer further claims that Deol fabricated a contract with his company in 2023.

During the same press conference, filmmaker Suneel Darshan, best known for films such as Janwar (1999) and Andaaz (2003), backed Gupta, claiming that he had the same issue with Sunny Deol. Expanding on this, the filmmaker stated, “Sunny Deol purchased worldwide distribution rights for my film Ajay (1996) and merely paid a portion of the price. “The balance payment was never received,” he continued.

On the condition of anonymity, an insider source told the Hindustan Times that Deol had a reputation for being a nuisance. “He has been a notorious troublemaker for years. Sunny had delivered a bound script for the film Ram Janmbhumi to a producer, who built a massive set in Mumbai. Sunny signed the project for ₹5 crores. However, he then refused to appear on the sets and sought a price of ₹25cr for delivering a blockbuster (Gadar 2, 2023).

The producer allegedly claimed to have filed a police complaint against the actor. Gupta stated, “The police sent [Deol] a notice on April 30. His office wrote a letter stating that he was out of town on the day he was supposed to show himself.

Sunny Deol and his crew have not provided an official response or comment.
