Plot:

Sukhee (Shilpa Shetty Kundra), an ambitious and energetic student, is her school’s favorite, and everyone is optimistic about her future. However, the young lady falls in love with Jogi (Chaitanya Choudhry) and marries to be a homemaker, only to realize 20 years later that she is also a woman with the right to live her life and achieve her goals. A reunion, three old friends (Kusha Kapila, Pavleen Gujral, and Dilnaz Irani), and her eternal lover (Amit Sadh) all play important roles in this life-altering transformation…

Plus Points:

The simplicity and relatability of the film strike a connection between the narrative and the audience, while without sacrificing the entertainment component. In fact, the first half is brimming with hilarious dialogue and one-liners written by Rupinder Inderjit, and is supported by a great screenplay and smooth direction by Radhika Anand and Sonal Joshi, respectively. They make you identify with the characters, which is a huge accomplishment for a director.

The great chemistry between the four pals adds to the movie-watching experience. Sukriti Grover, Nidhi Singh, and Kevin Mathews Koshy’s costumes justify the setting, while DOP R. Dee’s camera lens and Udai Prakash Singh’s production design enrich the director’s vision.

The director also pays homage to Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s Baazigar, which is a must-see for fans of the 1993 Abbas-Mustan-directed classic.

Minus Points:

Sukhee’s second half is a little longer and could have been cut by a few minutes, especially at the finish when the picture begins to feel prolonged. The film as a whole has the appropriate perspective on desire, ambition, and rights, but the finale falls victim to cliche.

Furthermore, the film has more emotional high spots than visual ones, so if you’re searching for the latter, Sukhee may fail you. Ganesh Acharya’s choreography, particularly in ‘Nasha,’ was supposed to deliver much more.

Sukhee Movie Review: Final Verdict

Sukhee is a great watch if you want something sweet, straightforward, and familiar.
