The sequel to Ram Gopal Varma’s Vyooham, called Shapadam, was recently released on AP FiberNet. Read our review to find out how the movie is.

Story:

Shapadham begins after the 2019 Andhra Pradesh elections, with Jagan Mohan Reddy (Ajmal Ameer) becoming Chief Minister and Babu Naidu (Dhananjay Prabhune) challenging Jagan in the 2024 elections. The narrative delves into the intricate political maneuvers that take place over the course of five years.

Plus Points:

Ram Gopal Varma excels at casting appropriate actors for real-life figures, as evidenced by Dhananjay Prabhune’s portrayal of Chandra Babu Naidu, Chintu’s portrayal of Pawan Kalyan, and Manasa Radhakrishnan’s embodiment of Jagan’s wife, Bharathi.

Their performances are commendable, and the poignant dialogues add to the storyline. The remaining characters are just fine.

Negative Points:

The storytelling is not up to par, even though the performances and casting are excellent. RGV’s direction tends to be satirical, missing chances for more in-depth dramatic investigation.

The screenplay is unengaging, which leads to a disconnected story that is uninteresting. Subpar sound design and a startling musical score, which includes an unsettling song sung by RGV himself, add to the film’s disjointed feel.

Even though the movie has the potential to be a really interesting political story, its coherence is undermined by sloppy editing and a rushed appearance.

Technical Details:

RGV was unable to realize his vision, and as a result, the movie suffers from a jumbled plot and drab photography. The film’s pacing is disrupted in both halves by editing inconsistencies, and the music fails to create the desired atmosphere.

Conclusion:

Shapadham wastes its intriguing premise and is, all in all, a silly and boring political drama. Although the performances are passable, the film’s impact is diminished by its haphazard plot and technical issues. It would be wiser for audiences to look into other forms of entertainment.
