Shah Rukh Khan Took A Sarcastic Dig At Saif Ali Khan For Winning A National Award Over Swades
Shah Rukh Khan Took A Sarcastic Dig At Saif Ali Khan For Winning A National Award Over Swades.

When Shah Rukh Khan made fun of Saif Ali Khan by mocking Kunal Kohli’s Hum Tum and remarking, “This Actor Won The National Award When I Think I Should Have Got It,”

Saif Ali Khan defeated Shah Rukh Khan’s Swades to win a National Award, and SRK made sure to mention it during one of his chats!

People have recently questioned the jury’s decision to give Allu Arjun for Pushpa the National Award while neglecting Vicky Kaushal for Sardar Udham after the list of winners was released. When Shah Rukh Khan was passed over for Swades during the National Award, a same scenario happened. The celebrity, though, made sure to state this fact in a public setting.

Veer Zara and Swades, two outstanding films that Shah Rukh Khan produced in 2004, are both. In both movies, he gave an outstanding performance. In the same year, he produced the equally blockbuster movie Main Hoon Naa. The National Film Awards gave him a royal snub despite the fact that he had garnered praise for all three of them at other award ceremonies.

Exactly who did get the prize that year, by the way? Saif Ali Khan for the movie Hum Tum. Fans still talk about this partiality because they were unable to process it. Even SRK admitted it once when sharing the stage with Hum Tum director Kunal Kohli at an event.

The director mentioned Jai Ho in response to SRK’s question on his most recent Hindi movie viewing. There is no accounting for taste, SRK retorted, during a time when he was not friendly with Salman Khan. What was the most recent mediocre movie you saw, Kunal enquired? SRK said sarcastically, “Ab teri is stage pe kitni aur beizzati karun main?”

Following that, the Pathaan actor remarked, “See main dil ka bahut accha hun. Mujhe saare hero acche lagte hain; saari heroine acchi lagti hain; saari filmein acchi lagti. I am Mujhko Har, and I have Acchi Lagti. My mind is quite simple. Even your films are to my taste. Every single person I adored. I liked Hum Tum and thought Fanaa was excellent.

Even Saif Ali Khan once said in one of his old interviews with Indian Express, “When I found out about my National Award for Hum Tum, I was enjoying breakfast in my bed in London. I received a call from Mom asking me to board the first aircraft home. I declined, explaining that I would have to pay for my own ticket. Additionally, I believed I didn’t deserve it because I am genetically related to my father, though I now disagree with that belief.

For those who are unfamiliar, Shah Rukh Khan portrayed a NASA engineer in the film Swades. He returned to his village and wanted to take his caregiver back to America, but he was conflicted between his undeveloped, screaming-for-attention roots in an Indian hamlet and the pleasures of a foreign country since he had to select one. Ashutosh Gowarikar, who also acted in the movie, received high praise.
