Sarah Jessica Parker Opens Up About Her Struggle to Gain Weight, Saying “I Don’t Like Being Thin”

Sarah Jessica Parker discusses her weight concerns in a new podcast.

Sarah Jessica Parker spoke openly about her body image difficulties, revealing that she despises being slim. Fans of Carrie Bradshaw on Sex and the City have long envied her tiny physique.

The 56-year-old actress and mother of three still has the same frame she had decades ago when she starred in the first Sex and the City. Sarah Jessica Parker stated to beauty expert Caroline Hirons on her new skincare and beauty podcast that she has always loathed her slender figure.

Sarah Jessica Parker stated that she would want to gain weight and disassociate herself from the thin label since she believes it is unflattering. She said, “Many people have their crosses to bear. I do not like being slim. If you’ve met my siblings, you’ll see that we share the same genetic makeup, and I don’t think or enjoy being skinny. I’d rather have weight, but that’s just how my body works.”

The actress, who starred opposite her husband Matthew Broderick in the two-person production Plaza Suite to mark her West End debut, revealed that she found it difficult to maintain her weight while playing the lead. It was a physical show, she recalled. There was so much that it was really difficult to maintain weight, you know.

The Sex and the City star has already discussed her appearance in an interview. Sarah Jessica Parker talked about aging in Hollywood and got candid about whether or not she thinks she looks well when she appeared on The Howard Stern Show last year.

Parker told Stern that she’s presentable even if she acknowledged she’s never thought of herself as pretty. It’s not my favorite thing to look at myself. I have never done so.

She also disclosed that she had refrained from getting Botox or facelifts, despite industry pressure to look a specific way.
