Today saw the release of Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati – Side B, a Telugu-dubbed movie starring Rakshit Shetty and a follow-up to Sapta Sagaralu Dhaari – Side A. See how it’s doing by reading our review.

Story:

Manu (Rakshit Shetty) wants to get back in touch with Priya (Rukmini Vasanth) after being released from prison. After seeing her married life, he is resolved to make things right for her. He meets the prostitute Surbhi (Chaitra J Achar) on his travels. And what happens next? Does Manu succeed in his goals? What role does Surbhi play in his life? Will Manu and Priya eventually come into contact? These solutions are revealed in the film.

Extra Credits:

The sequel, which flows naturally from the first, concentrates on making loved ones happy and arranging crucial changes in private.

Rakshit Shetty gives a powerful performance, skillfully capturing suffering, loss, and powerlessness.

In her role as Surbhi, a prostitute with dreams, Chaitra J. Achar shines, delivering moving lines, particularly in scenes with Rakshit Shetty.

The way that Gopal is portrayed by Gopal Krishna Deshpande is adequate, and the other actors do a good job in their parts as well.

Negative Points:

Like the first installment, the 147-minute runtime feels excessive despite the straightforward plot. Although the first half could have been faster, director Hemanth M. Rao does a good job with the second half.

Achyuth Kumar and Ramesh Indira’s characters deserved more time on screen. Even though Priya is a key character in the story, she is mediocre and doesn’t get much screen time.

The climax is skillfully narrated, but Priya’s plot needs a suitable explanation. Moments of boredom in the first half are partly caused by repetitiveness.

Some watchers might be let down if they were hoping for a lovebird reunion. The film’s plodding pace is still a problem.

Technical Features:

The second part, which features heartfelt dialogue and is somewhat improved by Hemanth M Rao and Gundu Shetty, drags on the screenplay due to its slow pace. Hemanth could have done a better job directing SSD – Side B to provide a more emotionally engaging experience.

Lighthearted music by composer Charan Raj complements the poignant story beautifully. Enhancements in editing could have had a significant impact. The extras are the good cinematography and production values. Impressive dubbing is also present.

Decision:

Overall, Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati – Side B is a ploddingly narrated emotional drama that is passable. The movie struggles with slow pacing, even with excellent performances from Chaithra J Achar, Rukmini Vasanth, and Rakshit Shetty. In comparison to its predecessor, the second installment is not as impressive, which makes it difficult for many viewers to relate to the story.
