Nintendo and Sony worked on a live-action adaptation of ‘The Legend of Zelda film, led by director Wes Bell known for the ‘Maze Runner series.

Nintendo and Sony: The movie will be produced by Zelda creator Shigeru Miyamoto as part of Nintendo’s plan to expand into a wider variety of entertainment mediums.

Nintendo intends to make a major impact in the film industry. The massive video game company has revealed that it is creating a live-action movie based on its well-known Zelda franchise.

Wes Ball, who directed the previous two Maze Runner movies and the upcoming Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, will direct this one as well. The film will also feature Shigeru Miyamoto, the man behind Zelda, as a producer alongside veteran Hollywood blockbuster producer Avi Arad.

Miyamoto expressed to X how excited he was about the project. I’m Miyamoto, he said. For a long time now, I have collaborated with Avi Arad-san, the producer of numerous massively successful movies, on the live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda. “It will take time until its completion, but I hope you look forward to seeing it,” he added, pleading with the public to exercise patience.

Together with Sony, Nintendo will produce the live-action movie, with Nintendo paying for more than half of the entire production budget. Numerous rumors circulated suggesting that the gaming behemoth was first in talks with Illumination. The highly regarded publishers of the Minions book series.

Following Nintendo’s recent reveal of a live-action “Legend of Zelda” movie, talks have begun regarding Chris Pratt playing Link in the movie adaptation.

There is also a possible rumor that Tom Holland, the star of Spider-Man, is capable of portraying Zelda.

The live-action Zelda film is not Nintendo’s first attempt at bringing the franchise to the big screen. There were rumors a few years ago that Nintendo was collaborating with Netflix on a live-action Zelda series, but that project never materialized.
