Naa Saami Ranga, Akkineni Nagarjuna’s new film, premiered today amid positive reviews.

Story:

In Ambajipeta village, President Peddayya (Nasser) assists Kistayya’s (Nagarjuna) family amid a problem. Kistayya, a loyalist, admires Mahalaxmi, also known as Varalu (Ashika Ranganath). However, an unexpected event separates them. Dasu (Shabeer Kallarakkal), Peddayya’s son, plans to hurt Kistayya and his brother Anji (Allari Naresh). Why the rivalry? Why did Varalu and Kistayya split? How is Bhaskar (Raj Tarun) involved in the story? The film provides all the answers.

Plus Points:

Nagarjuna’s persistent charm, complemented by his popular appeal and dazzling appearance, remains dependably impressive. Fans enjoy his speech delivery and on-screen presence, and he gives an adequate portrayal as Nasser’s elder brother and loyalist.

Ashika Ranganathan deserves credit for approving this assignment while knowing she would be playing a role older than her. The actress captivates the audience with her beauty and acting abilities, particularly in sequences with Nagarjuna.

Allari Naresh entertains and makes a lasting impression, particularly in the second half. MM Keeravaani contributes skillfully with his music, which establishes the appropriate emotional tone. The well-designed pre-climax and climax scenes enhance the film’s appeal, while the supporting cast gives adequate performances.

Minus points:

The film’s plot lacks innovation for Telugu audiences, and the screenplay, which was written by director Vijay Binni himself, should have been handled better.

Characters played by Raj Tarun, Shabeer, and Rukshar Dhillon might have been explored more. Despite Vijay Binni’s effective direction, a faster-paced screenplay may have increased the overall impact. Prasanna Kumar’s presence could have resulted in more heartfelt emotional passages, especially in the second half.

The emotional link between Allari Naresh and Nagarjuna should have been better represented in the first half, influencing situations in the second half and providing more enjoyment for fans.

A more aggressive portrayal of the villain and more strategic placement of a few songs could have improved the overall experience.

Technical aspects:

Vijay Binni’s directorial debut is effective, although a more focused effort on a gripping story could have produced better results. Writer Prasanna Kumar might have focused more on the story’s improvement.

MM Keeravaani’s outstanding background score elevates various sequences, perfectly capturing the mood for love, action, and grief. Nice editing and cinematography add to the film’s excellence, which has commendable production values. The art department needs to be recognized for their outstanding services.

Verdict:

Overall, Naa Saami Ranga is a watchable village drama. Nagarjuna, Allari Naresh, and Ashika Ranganathan have decent performances. However, the slow-paced first half and lack of key highlight scenes are the main roadblocks.
