After a long hiatus, Tom Hiddleston’s portrayal of the title character in Loki Season 2 left everyone in awe of Marvel. The six-episode series came to an end last week, but talk about it is still going strong. Producer Kevin Wright explains why the show broke from its tradition of end-credit scenes, even though it only restored the MCU’s lost glory. In the second season of the show, Loki at last came to terms with his lofty life goals and became alone—the one thing he had always feared. Marvel has been having contentious issues for a while, but with the help of this series’ continuation, they have been able to win back their fans.
However, the final episode of Loki Season 2 lacked an end-credit scene, in contrast to other MCU movies and web series. These post-credit scenes usually tie a show or film to other Marvel undertakings or exclusively allude to the show’s future. Tom Hiddleston stated that this last episode completed Loki’s character arc, and when considering things from that angle, the decision to omit an end credit seems appropriate. “We didn’t write any [post-credits scenes], and we certainly didn’t shoot any,” stated the producer of Loki Season 2. Many of us want these to feel like self-contained narratives. Some people, I know, enjoy the greater interconnectedness. That’s also, in my opinion, occasionally becoming a barrier to some of our stories. For us, the matter was resolved, end of story.
This suggests even more that Tom Hiddleston’s run as Loki in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is coming to an end, as Tom hinted when he said that the past fourteen years had been quite the journey. Fans conjectured that he would never appear in the MCU again, but he frequently died and returned. Thus, never give up!
As previously mentioned, there was another MCU project that lacked an end-credit scene prior to Loki Season 2. Are you able to recall which one it was?
