Dominik Mysterio has now won the NXT North American Championship twice after defeating Trick Williams and regaining it with the aid of The Judgment Day.
He lost the title to Trick at No Mercy this past Saturday night in a singles bout, and he was by himself. He losing the championship upset Rhea Ripley, who made her RAW comeback last Monday. She explained to him what would happen if he failed to get it back.
In this week’s NXT big event against Trick Williams, Dominik Mysterio had the chance to win back the North American Championship. He was accompanied by his “Mami,” so he didn’t arrive alone.
Finn Balor and Damian Priest, the reigning Undisputed Tag Team Champions, entered the arena during the contest. The Eradicator attempted to hit Trick with her Women’s World Championship belt while the match was still going on, but Dirty Dom only managed to score a two-count.
Later, Trick raised his knees in opposition to Dominik’s attempt at the frog splash. He then delivered a jumping knee to a member of The Judgment Day, but JD McDonagh stepped in and was then struck by the same blow.
Then, Dominik Mysterio received Damian Priest’s Money in the Bank briefcase, but the referee noticed it. Using his tag title belt, Finn Balor hit Trick Williams in the face while the referee was preoccupied. The NXT North American Championship was reclaimed by Dominik Mysterio after hitting Williams with a frog splash as a result.
