Prominent performer Siddharth produced and performed in the Telugu version of the Tamil movie Chittha, titled Chinna. Today, it opens in theaters. Find out all it has to offer by reading our review.

Story:

Sundari, popularly known as Chitti (Sahasra Sree), is the 8-year-old daughter of Eeshwar, a government official who is in charge of his late brother’s wife. Chitti disappears one tragic day, and Eeshwar sets out on a mission to find out what really happened. What is the fate of Chitti, and what strange mysteries is Eeshwar going to uncover? The enigma is revealed by the main plot of the movie.

Positive Points:

The narrative is compelling and has a strong emphasis on narrators, particularly in the latter part. Later in the movie, the screenplay also exhibits a well-organized approach.

Siddharth gives one of the best performances of his career. As he skillfully emotes the necessary emotions, his portrayal of the character is simple yet emotionally impactful.

The way Sahasra Sree portrayed Chitti is amazing and endearing. It’s difficult for young artists to accurately capture certain expressions. Because of her remarkable on-screen presence, she ought to have more opportunities in the industry.

Notwithstanding her little on-screen time, Nimisha Vijayan always puts in a strong effort.

One of the movie’s best features is unquestionably its soundtrack. It successfully deepens the emotional resonance of the tale and adds the appropriate drama when needed.

The dubbing and on-screen text have also been carefully considered by the directors to ensure that they blend in with the Telugu version naturally, giving it a genuine feel.

Negative Points:

Although the plot is decent, it could not present the audience with all that’s new. Soon after the movie opens, some narrative twists become very obvious. However, the screenplay is ultimately responsible for the film’s improved quality.

Particularly in the early half, director SU Arunkumar should have presented a more compelling narrative. The movie moves more slowly in the first half as it takes its time to explore the main plot.

These kinds of stories, with their intense topics, demand a deep emotional investment. Unfortunately, there seems to be a lack of emotional connection between Siddharth and Chitti the youngster. This component of the movie could have been improved with more scenes showing their relationship.

The persona of Nimisha Vijayan could have been more nuanced.

Technical Aspects:

China, a film by SU Arunkumar that focuses on physical assault and child abuse, is a thought-provoking work that deserves praise for the effort it put into it. But the final result might have been different if the first half had been a more succinct and interesting story.

Vishal Chandrasekhar, the film’s music director, should be acknowledged for his work behind the scenes. His soundtrack greatly improves the visual experience. Suresh Prasad’s editing, though, should have been improved. The production qualities are up to par, and Balaji Subramanyam has excellent cinematography.

Verdict:

Overall, Vishal Chandrasekhar’s powerful score and Siddharth and Sahasra Sree’s powerful emotional performances make Chinna a somewhat interesting thriller drama. But the film’s weak points are mostly caused by its plodding early part, a few pointless moments, and a very formulaic plot. This weekend, you might watch Chinna, but don’t expect too much.
