Bobby Deol: The second episode of the current eighth season of Koffee With Karan will feature guests Bobby Deol and his brother Sunny Deol.
Before seeing his career take off a few years ago, Bobby Deol saw years and years of bad work. He finally scored big roles in movies like Love Hostel and television shows like Ashram and Class of 83 after a string of failures. His next role will be as the antagonist in Animal by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, which many have already dubbed the pinnacle of his career.
On Thursday, Bobby and his older brother Sunny Deol will be spotted together on the Koffee With Karan couch. He will talk candidly about the low point in his career and what ultimately led him to reclaim his life and career on the show.
On the show, he said, “I gave up, I started pitying myself.” I was sitting at home when I started drinking heavily out of the blue. I used to be really cruel to myself and wonder, “Why am I not taken?” When I’m good, why won’t they want to work with me? I think I got so negative about everything that I lost the ability to be positive. I used to sit at home because my wife works.”
Bobby explained how something inside of him was “snapped” by his son’s comment.”You know, mom, dad stays at home while you go to work every day,” my son said out of the blue. Something snappy sensed me. I just stated that I’m unable to! It was a slow process, and it took me a while to gather myself again after coming out of it. It won’t occur right away.
“My mother, dad, brothers, and sisters were there for me no matter what. Holding someone’s hand does not always allow you to do anything. You must use both of your feet to walk. Then things began to shift. I became more serious and focused. When you are focused, you have that energy within you. I mean, I’ve gone and met a ton of people. I told myself that I would go meet people and tell them that I wanted to collaborate with each of you. You still haven’t worked with me, so I came to you too,” he continued.
Disney+ Hotstar will host the episode’s premiere on Thursday at midnight.
