But, being you (in case you weren’t the meticulous type), you rushed through the Holiday homework just a day before submission. It was probably not your best work, but it was feasible and achievable.
And this hasty and lazy attempt frequently worked, and you enjoyed a good reputation at school. So, this scenario could be the ‘behind-the-scenes’ idea for the creation of Baahubali: Crown Of Blood, SS Rajamouli’s animated series.
Superb credit to SS Rajamouli and Sharad Devarajan for leveraging the Baahubali brand and not allowing it to wane or become muddled with time. Directed by Jeevan J Kang and written by a group of folks, this is a very recognizable world. However, this online series is more of a brand-driven notion than the franchise version of Baahubali, which are two different concepts. Is Rajamouli’s advantage, though? This review aims to find out.
A review and script analysis of Baahubali: Crown of Blood
A new chapter in Mahishmati’s history is presented in Baahubali: Crown of Blood. With little to no link to the two enormously successful Baahubali movies that revolutionized Indian cinema and its perception around the world, this story stands alone. On top of the time-honored plotting, planning, striving to be the greatest country in the world, and power struggles for the Mahishmati throne, there is a new adversary.
As a result, one of the purposes of the online series is to update the traditional Mahishmati stories. Is that sufficient, though, for a nine-episode web series whose primary target audience consists of children aged five to ten? It is far too low-quality animation for children of that age, to start with.
Marvel superheroes are a childhood favorite for Disney-loving children worldwide. Baahubali: Crown of Blood is just too unimpressive for them. The plot is simple from a child’s perspective, yet it still has enough suspense to keep an adult like myself interested, therefore it deserves recognition.
Evaluation of Baahubali: Crown of Blood: Star Performance:
When you compare the plot of this web series to that of an animated movie, it is unquestionably the star. To put it another way, the concept of importing stories from Mahishmati and creating an entire world around them may have been the web series’ shining point. This concept could have been the next Tenaliraman or Akbar Birbal if it had been implemented correctly. However, the concept of an animated Baahubali tale is perhaps more effective on paper. As a result, the only star in this web series is the concept of a different Mahishmati story, which makes it quite exciting to watch!
Review of Baahubali: Crown of Blood: What Works
I’m in for a web series like Tales from Mahishmati or Adventures of Baahubali and Bhallaladeva if Disney has set up this miniseries as a testing or sampling. It could be such a big and exciting world to take this brand further. The concept is undoubtedly effective. A small amount of money invested in the animation could have made Baahubali: Crown of Blood much more effective.
A Review of Baahubali: Crown of Blood: What Doesn’t Work
This series’ animation transports us back thirty years. It’s what kids from the 1990s and maybe even the early 2000s would have liked. The children may or may not appreciate this world, which is reminiscent of Ducktales, Chhota Bheem, Doraemon, and Shin Chan. (They have undoubtedly improved; nevertheless, with children and their erratic behavior, you never know). It could have been better even in terms of plot, as it heavily referenced The Legend of Hanuman, another masterfully designed and executed animated web series.
The brilliant team behind Baahubali: Crown of Blood failed to create a single catchy line that appealed to children and became synonymous with the nine-part online series. From the Hindi song “Okey Dokey Doraemon” by Shin Chan to a plethora of other songs that I may be unaware of. Even Shaktimaan from the 1990s was able to compose “Sorry Shaktimaan.” A quick and straightforward song or slogan would have been a better way to introduce this web series. In the same way as Baahubali asked, “Katappa ne Baahubali ko kyun maara?”
Ironically, the actual figures in the movie are very different from the drawings in this animation. Of them, only Bhallaldeva and Bijjaladeva have the closest resemblance. In actuality, Prabhas’ appearance is significantly different from that of Baahubali in this series. Since the celebrity would want to be associated with the series rather than the brand, it is most likely what will benefit him the most.
Final Words on Baahubali: Crown of Blood:
We suppose it needs the appropriate funding, time, an engaged crew, and most importantly, the correct animators, but commercializing a popular series and building it into a brand may be a very fascinating and successful try. Please refrain from assigning any more summer vacation homework until then.
