The controversy over Bollywood and South Indian content has persisted ever since the COVID-19 outbreak ended. Now that the government controls the ticket prices for Telugu films, the renowned director has addressed the topic of the differences in movie ticket prices between Bollywood and South, notably Tollywood.

In an interview with Humans of Cinema, Anurag Kashyap stated, “Telugu ticket prices have a ceiling.” A luxury seat cannot cost more than ₹250, no matter how big your film is. It makes no difference if you’ve made an independent film or an RRR; you can’t charge more for your tickets than that. We now make the necessary corrections to our unnecessary spending.

Anurag Kashyap continued, saying that having more money makes it easier to spend more on marketing, which puts pressure on smaller films. That’s the reason they can’t compete in this ecosystem.

Regarding work, Kennedy, starring Rahul Bhat and Sunny Leone, was directed by Anurag last time around.
