WWE Hall: Because of CM Punk’s turbulent departures from WWE in 2014 and AEW in 2023, there is a perception that the “Best in the World” is damaged goods and a bad addition to a locker room. The WWE Hall of Famer “Road Dogg” Brian James, however, thinks the storyline is probably incorrect and that it would be unjust to dismiss Punk without knowing the complete circumstances surrounding his departure from AEW.
Is his reputation in jeopardy? On his “Oh You Didn’t Know?” podcast, James said, “That’s the question I would ask.”What is his standing in? Wrestling? Please, guy! More than only wrestling is available. Does he need to maintain a certain reputation? I’m not sure.
He did seem like the bad actor from all we heard [about his time in AEW]. Was he, though? since it is unclear what exactly occurred. We don’t see or hear everything; rather, everyone makes assumptions and speculations.
Punk was the only AEW performer that James said he would want to see in WWE; he described the “Second City Savior” as a “needle mover” who might assist draw greater attention to the WWE product. After Punk was let go by AEW, James stated he wasn’t sure whether WWE CCO Triple H wanted to reinstate the contentious performer.
Contradictory rumors about Punk visiting his old haunts have been surfacing as of this writing, making it unclear if a Punk-WWE reunion is actually in the works. According to Dave Meltzer, WWE management recently rejected CM Punk’s request to rejoin the organization, but they also hinted that they might alter their minds in the future. Fans have been speculating about CM Punk’s potential WWE comeback in his hometown as the Survivor Series takes place in Chicago next month.
