Little Mermaid, starring Halle Bailey, has broken Disney’s record with its OTT premiere, garnering 16 million views in its first five days!

After experiencing success with The Little Mermaid worldwide box office collection, Halle Bailey set another record with the release of Disney+.

The Little Mermaid is one of the Disney princess stories that we have read since we were little. It feels surreal to watch it as a live-action film. However, Halle Bailey as Ariel brought a fresh viewpoint to our tiny mermaid’s rendition. In addition to Halle, Melissa McCarthy appeared in the film. After being released on the OTT platform, the musical has now broken a record.

According to a statistic published by The Walt Disney Company, Halle Bailey’s The Little Mermaid received 16 million views in the first five days after being posted on Disney+. Rob Marshall, the director, and the cast have been enjoying the success of this film since its release in theaters. It was one of the top five highest-earning films of the summer, grossing over $300 million in the United States.

Furthermore, The Little Mermaid was one of the top ten movies of 2023, earning nearly $570 million at the global box office. The cast of the musical live-action remake included Javier Bardem, Daveed Diggs, and Awkwafina.

The film received an ‘A’ rating from CinemaScore and a 94% rating from Rotten Tomatoes. The Little Mermaid, directed by Halle Bailey, made a $118.6 million debut in North America during Memorial Day weekend.
