The story is about the life of Gopi(Gopichand) who leaves Italy for Hyderabad for his sweetheart Sameera(Kavya Thapar). Towards the end, it is revealed that Gopi is not an honest man but it is Viswam who is standing alive in front of her. The plot becomes much more complicated, as Viswam gets tangled in a movie about rescuing a girl, named Darshanan from the terrorists. They are exploring the love story of the lead characters Viswam and Darshana and the twists that take place in that movie to connect their lives and explore the emotions of love sacrifices and even heroism.

Review:

It is an action-comedy film that tries to balance the action genre and comedy by incorporating both into the flick. Still, audiences have grown weary, and they are disappointed, however, concerning the screenplay and comprehensiveness of the movie.

Plus Points:

  • Gopichand’s Performance: Gopichand is good in his role of Viswam. Strengthened by his presence, fans and reviewers found him neurons, performing melodic scenes with intensity and feat.
  • Supporting Cast: The movie has the presence of some good actors and comedians like Jisshu Sengupta and Sunil, and Vennela Kishore respectively who curb the comedy touch throughout the storyline.
  • Humor: Comedy is also as strong as ever, which pitches several scenes of genuinely good humor some of which had me laughing. Get here delightful character interactions that enhance the overall entertainment of a production.
  • Visual Appeal: K.V. Guhan handles the camera excellently and helps spruce up the looks and feel of the film. These grand Production values tell not just how much hard effort went into visually marketing Viswam.

Minus Points:

  • Weak Screenplay: On the brighter side, Sreenu Vaitla succeeds in giving interesting routines for all the main characters though the screenplay misses pace in the second half. It has little or no variation and starts to become rather dull.
  • Pacing Issues: Some parts are exceedingly stretched out and these lapses disrupt interest. One of the drawbacks of The Hurt Locker might have been solved had the editors practiced a stricter edit: the pacing of this film could have been better.
  • Underdeveloped Antagonist: It should be noted that the character of a villain is not very well thought out and does not pose a very powerful image factor. A better antagonist could have given an even higher risk profile for Viswam to rise to overcome.

Technical Aspects:

  • Direction: Besides direction, Sreenu Vaitla has particularly proved that he can add the required amount of humor with action; but is unable to set the right tone for the film consistently. Thus, he can come up with moments that spark interest but overall the delivery isn’t so great.
  • Cinematography: K.V.Guhan’s lens work is also one of the movie’s highlights and would deservedly deserve to be mentioned as the technical centerpiece of the film. The visuals are brilliant and brightly recorded while the actions together with the dramatic scenes are recorded in detail.
  • Music: Song and music by Chaitan Bharadwaj also blend but do not make a distinct note in the film. Sometimes they are melodious but the Cal Poly logos and graphics may not be the first thing a viewer will remember after the show is over.
  • Editing: Directed by Amar Reddy Kudumula, the movie drags many a scene which unnecessarily elongated and that could have been pruned for the sake of a better nerve. Greater effort should have been employed in the editing of the magazine to heighten its various appeals.

Performance:

Gopichand is equally good as a serious action hero as well as an emotional hero in the role of Viswam. Their romantic spice offscreen also makes them look quite adorable as a couple; oppping Kavya Thapar. In the movie Kavya has done a good job of portraying Sameera but to some extent dominated by Gopichand.

Jisshu Sengupta has done a good job and commands the eruditeness of the tale. There are often jokes by comedians like Sunil and Vennela Kishore which could fit perfectly well with the audience. They work a lot on the comic parts of the film; they are very funny.

Black and white characters like Naresh and Pragathi still are well within their part and enhance the character drama.

MoviePopTime Review:

Therefore, having watched Viswam, I was taken on a ride on one of the most dramatic up-and-down effects that was a straight derivative of the movie. The premise intrigued me: Gopi (Gopichand) who shot scenes in Italy is badly in love with Meenakshi. But, his love gets lifted for the mission to save a young girl from terrorists when he reaches Hyderabad. This setting gave the audience the hope of getting a feel of romance, action, and laughter all rolled into one.

Conclusion:

In sum, Viswam seems to be a funfilled action entertainer full of comedy touches, which, however, leaves the viewers dazed for a few moments at many times, and does not seem to have a ‘pronounced story structure’. Action star Gopichand delivers a hell of a performance without a doubt the movie has many fun-filled funny scenes that make the audience pack up fun.

But once again the weak plot having an unconvincing script and an antediluvian second-half tone takes the sheen off the movie. Although there are comedic and action sequences involved, people’s enjoyment should not be set high about the movie’s narrative.

Conclusively, in Viswam’s attempt to address many social issues of serious graveness, he tries to adopt humor but he does not present a strong story that the masses can identify with. It has to be said that the singers are worth respect; however, the staging of the show looks far from ideal.
