Story:

Kittu, a dream police on the rise in rank wants to protect his small sister, Chitti to the end this movie is about. Chitti aggressively became the victim of deep fake technology which resulted in adverse emotional effects and the plan of a suicide attempt. Its major plot is the journey of Kittu to save his sister from this calamity; the added subplot is the reunited family with grudges to sort out after a long time apart. The culminating point is based around the wedding function of Chitti and it’s connected with Kittu’s striving to bring together the separated families and to embrace the problems that arise in front of people because of the existing traditions.

Review:

A large number of Telugu movies reflecting Anna Chellella’s feelings have been made. From ‘Rakta Vishna’ of the past to Gorintaku of yesterday many films could not fit the audience. I was pleased with the fact that the director has done a very good job of making an interesting film about his sister’s humiliation due to the morphing done by the deep fakes of the current generation and how she was hanged for it, even though the entire film is shot around sisterly affection. Dubbing technology appeals to the very emotional feelings of the sister Anna.

Extremely big towns such as Hyderabad are depicted as places with no kinship and relationships. Ideally living nearby we are still strangers to our close neighbours and sometimes even our friends. Recalling the scene from the movie shown in Succession Brahmotsavam there is a meeting point when the elders introduce one to one’s relatives asking them where they are residing. The process of going in search of his family for the wedding of his younger sister was well as can be seen. Moreover, how a deepfake batch is identified? One good scene is; one where he applies for a police force position.

It is significant to know that the director was building up on the feelings of the other sister Anna during the first half of the film. Everyone is connected. Feelings in the show are a little high in the later part when the relatives are searching for their genealogy. Within a second, the remote sister Vadina and all the brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law of Anna transform into negligible feelings.

Positives:

  • Emotional Resonance: This is true because the movie perfectly captures all aspects of sibling theme and bond that most viewers would easily relate to.
  • Strong Performances: Being the male priority protagonist, Ram Mittakanti does an extremely good job as Kittu, who looks visibly sad in several instances. Pavithra as Chitti has also done a good job in her role.
  • Cinematography: The visuals are lively and well-orchestrated to provide the storytelling aspect as required.
  • Music: There is good music that accompanies a film and orchestrates the listeners’ mood along with the movie.

Negatives:

  • Pacing Issues: Some scenes can be described as excessively long and there is a tendency to make them even longer However, this could also be a result of the lack of compactness in the frames of the first half of the movie.
  • Predictable Plot Points: Some incidents can even be foreseen and this can take away quite a lot of the entertainment value for second-time watchers.
  • Underdeveloped Supporting Characters: As with most soap opera dramas, the leads are very well rounded while the other characters are not so vivid so one hardly trace their qualities.

Technical Aspects:

  • Direction: Direction by Ram Mittakanti is good in handling comedy with the drama while a few scenes appear slightly stretched.
  • Editing: The editing could have been much more intense to keep the audience interested through most of the movie.
  • Production Design: The sets are good and depict the cultural aspect of the story to the best effort.

Performance:

“Chitti Potti” has all the trappings of a classical music concert but one feature that stands out is the performances. Ram Mittakanti beautifully captures Kittu with rage and yet with the tenderness of a protective born to a brother. As the leading lady Pavithra provides a worthwhile performance as Chitti: she performs her character’s plight well. It is real and quite interesting to see how they portray non-blood-related siblings. The rest of the actors in the movie also enhance the storytelling or lack thereof however some could have been developed more.

Moviepoptime Review:

All the characters are named after body parts – the hero, Chitti, a playful but endearing boy, discovers a pocket-sized Maggi Merlin about Potti, a small robot. I liked these two together because their relationship seems so organic on-screen. It in no way seemed like a contrived attempt the producers did a great work of portraying a relationship between a kid and a robot. As for an adult person, watching this movie it became clear that friendship, loyalty and courage are not only good concepts but very exciting for a kid or even for an adult person who wants to watch a simple film for children.

It’s the adventure that Chitti had with Potti when the little robot pal of the former is in danger of being captured by negative elements that virtually described my childhood: tales of heroes in the ordinary. I associated with Chitti’s desire to stay loyal to his friend and all of that made me support them in the movie.

Conclusion:

Thus, “Chitti Potti” is a pleasant family drama shown with bright emotions and an effective combination of the emotional plot and interest in modern problems, like using technologies in everyday life. Despite its shortcomings — about speed and predictability — the movie’s touching theme and excellent cast performances are a reason for viewing. As is true with most Telegenic productions, “Chitti Potti” was a colourful and engaging production with appeal for entertainment and emotional listening. This film educates society about the special features of family in society today by teaching people to embrace their families in the middle of all the hustle.
