“Sasi Madanam,” a Telugu online serial, was released on July 4, 2024, and has received a rating of 2.5 out of 5. The cast includes Pavan Sidhu, Soniya Singh, Rupa Lakshmi, Pradeep Raparti, Kruthika, and Ashok Chandra. Directed by Winod Gali and produced by Harish Kohirkar, the series features music by Sinjith Yerramilli. The cinematography was managed by Rehan Shaik and Anil Kumar P.
Story:
Madhan (Pavan Sidhu), from Warangal, and Sashi, from Hyderabad (Soniya Singh), are madly in love. Madhan is a careless person who seeks quick money, therefore he becomes addicted to betting and rummy. Madhan loses a large sum of money betting one day, and to avoid the wrath of a money lender, he decides to stay at Sashi’s residence for several days. This is also the time when Sashi’s parents leave Hyderabad to attend a relative’s wedding. Madhan believes staying at Sashi’s residence will be the safest option, but fate has other plans for the couple.
Positive aspects:
The relationship between Pavan Sidhu and Soniya Singh is the highlight of Sasi Madanam. The combo has entertained YouTube fans for years, and with this web program, the real-life couple has recaptured the magic by sharing a sizzling connection. Their adorable interactions and humor will make us grin.
Several comic sequences are well-designed. The entire match-making episode is filled with confused comedy that will make you laugh. The concept is not original, but the way the conversation and drama are crafted will have us in stitches. This episode is distinguished out among the six since it provides a lot of enjoyment. Pradeep Raparti, who played Sonia’s father, did an outstanding job. His conversational delivery and facial mannerisms are entertaining.
Negative Points:
The underlying concept is intriguing, and if executed well, Sasi Madanam could have been a successful entertainer. The biggest problem with this romantic comedy is that it fails to seamlessly combine funny and emotional moments. A few dramatic scenes occur, but they have little impact. These emotional parts appear forced, and several are out of place. The ending is bland because the dispute is settled quickly.
In terms of the enjoyable parts, the writing is inconsistent. There are some genuine laugh-out-loud moments, but there are also instances when the filmmakers try too hard to impress, and these scenes fall flat. The writing team might have done a much better job with the comedic scenes, given the show relies heavily on them.
The track with the second female lead adds little depth to the series and only lengthens its runtime. The decision to include another love track is understandable, and it also conveys a message. But was it successfully communicated? No. It was introduced unexpectedly into the story and lacks the intended impact. Many such components of the program remain on the surface and occur in haste.
Technical aspects:
Sinjith Yerramilli’s music is relaxing. The songs are well-composed, and the background score is very superb. Cinematographer Rehan Shaik’s images are neat. Even though the series is produced on a tight budget, the quality is high. The editing is fine. It can give the impression that things are moving too quickly.
It appears that the creators intended to keep things simple, yet this turned out to be a disadvantage. Sasi Madanam is an uninspiring rom-com because emotions are underexplored. Director Winod Gali created some enjoyable moments, but the series does not provide comprehensive entertainment.
Verdict:
Overall, Sasi Madanam contains some memorable moments, but the show is unremarkable. Pavan Sidhu and Soniya Singh, the lead duo, perform admirably and have a great relationship. A few comedic scenes are unsatisfactory, but the fundamental issue is that the show lacks the necessary emotional depth, and thus falls short.
