Story:

The primary actor of this movie is Krishna aka Ajay Devgn who takes the character of a man who was sentenced to jail for 22 years for the assassination of his mistress. On release he gets to meet his old flame, Vasundha (Tabu) who is now the wife of Abhijeet (Jimmy Shergill). In essence, the rest of the story focuses on Krishna and Vasudha’s love story in the early 2000s which is represented as a youth Tridha and Vihan remembering their love time as Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee Manjrekar. During the whole movie, the information about Krishna being put in prison is revealed step by step and this poses the main characters’ notion of sacrificing for love.

Review:

While most reviewers have commented well on ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ some critics have also given mediocre remarks about this movie. Let this not be mistaken, the idea and the actors used are perfect, it is just that the movie is not very good at realizing it. Regarding the concerns, let us begin with the fact that the pace of the action in the movie is incredibly slow throughout most of the first half of the film; audiences wind up being confounded by a simple lock-in with Jack. The film lacks suspense eliminating it from the opposite extremes and the heaving overtones of conventional movie idylls are the drawbacks.

Positives:

  • Strong Performances: As for the performances, Tabu has looked quite graceful in her character and so has Ajay Devgn in his. In providing the young generation of Krishna and Vasudha, Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee Manjrekar deliver their romantic camaraderie and sensitivity most effectively.
  • Evocative Music: Music is one of such values, relevant and diverse tracks by MM Keeravani are included in the movie and sound as its principal themes – love and sacrifice.
  • Exploration of Mature Themes: The film premiers adult topics like love, loss and regret that are distinctly different from the usual Bollywood flick fare.

Negatives:

  • Pacing Issues: Still, it was observed that the way it does it makes the movie go through its plot slowly and yes more so in the first half of the movie.
  • Predictable Plot: The narrative character of the film involves the creation of an image that suddenly turns out to be very different, and at the same time, much of what happened appears rather clichéd for someone familiar with this type of genre.
  • Inconsistent Tonality: This is quite shocking, especially bearing in mind the fact that they go a little extra on the dramatic side in some scenes knowing there are instances where a little drama is needed to set the tone of the film.

Technical Aspects:

  • Direction: While Neeraj Pandey may bring out a certain effective suave tokenism, his direction of the picture sways between tones. The flashback scenes are nicely done while the rest of the present-day resides at a strangely perfunctory level.
  • Cinematography: Here, Sudhir Chaudhary serves his function as the director of cinematography most effectively, on a beautiful chawl in which characters of Krishna and Vasudha were brought up and the prison sequences.
  • Editing: Sometimes the director should have been more efficient and particularly in Praveen K.L. the editing of the movie could have been better mostly at the initial part of the movie.

Performance:

A very memorable portrayal of the older Krishna is done by Ajay Devgn who has managed to show how the role model is turned into a prisoner, lover type after being a convict. Indeed Tabu as Vasudha has done justice and has depicted the emotional chart of the character nicely. The young stars Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee Manjrekar share goodsexy comfort as the younger actors of the lead pair and Jimmy Shergill as Abhijeet has performed well.

Moviepoptime Review:

Vintage cult film. I must have said I’ve viewed a fabulous love story movie after long intervals. A gem of this era was produced by Neeraj Pandey. Shantanu Maheshwari has played out a complete life drama. He’s very natural and his smiles are the best. The best movie to date is Sai Manjeraker. In addition, Ajay Devgan can be considered the most representative of this type of role.

Both Ajay and Shantanu are competitors of the best actors. Tabu is amazing as usual. Jimmy Shergil has done justice to his character. Songs and BGM are the life of this work in my opinion. The best love story in Indian films of the last thirty years. That masterpiece will indeed become a cult movie. I still want to encourage all fans of cinema to watch this splendid picture.

Conclusion:

Even though ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ is a genuine attempt from Neeraj Pandey to come up with a mature lovemaking scene, the film is here and there. The performers have done well as the actors, singers, and musicians While the staffing and movement and some of the story points of the movies are not unique enough for a fabulous show.

Ajay Devgn and Tabu are again together and their fans must watch the movie for them but the romantic drama lovers may not get their money’s worth. In general, ‘Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha’ is not completely unguessable and at the same time, it does not evoke such a long-lasting impression as well because of the numerous flaws coming from its cast and the director of the show as well.
