Kailash Kher recalls recording a song for Chalte Chalte and quickly realizing that he couldn’t become too involved in the film industry.
Kailash Kher stated that he recorded a song for Shah Rukh Khan’s Chalte Chalte and was never informed of a replacement, but later realized that his version was not utilized in the 2003 film. Kailash was conversing with Bollywood Thikana.
When asked about seeing the Chalte Chalte audio tape, Kailash told the YouTube channel that he was summoned to sing a song for a film that Javed Akhtar was scripting and Aziz Mirza was directing. Kailash hoped it would be something significant because the initiative was affiliated with famous names.
recorded a challenging tune.
“Gaana bhi ek dum aise pehelwani type ka (The song was also just like wrestling). It took a lot of effort to sing it. I was pretty happy, so I told my sister that I sang for a Shah Rukh Khan film. But when the first audio CD of the film came, it didn’t have the name Kailash Kher. It had someone else’s name.
That’s when I experienced my first setback. I remember thinking, ‘Bade aadmi bhi choti harkat kar sakte hain (Even big people do such minor things).’ They had another singer perform the song.” He went on to say that the episode taught him not to become too tied to the film industry or to be too impacted by his successes in it.
