Kamal Haasan’s Indian 2 ignites a box office frenzy in Chennai with 1 crore advance tickets; pan-India bookings will begin soon.

Prepare for the return of vigilante justice! The highly anticipated sequel, Indian 2, featuring the iconic Kamal Haasan, has sparked excitement among fans with the launch of advance bookings.

Advance bookings in Chennai began on Monday evening, and the demand has been overwhelming. Fans are excited to see Haasan reprise his legendary role as Senapathy, resulting in high demand for tickets. Early results indicate a gross collection of 34.04 Lac. After adding block seats, Indian 2’s collections total 1.05 crore across 923 shows. This equates to a promising 21,306 seats already sold, signaling a potential blockbuster debut in Tamil Nadu.

On Day 1, the film grossed 1 lac from Karnataka, 2.5K from Maharashtra, and 33 lac from Tamil Nadu based on advance booking. Advance bookings have begun in Bengaluru, with approximately 179 concerts slated for the opening day. The response here is currently decent, and it may pick up as the release date nears. Breaking down the collections by region, Chennai had the highest total of 28 lac, followed by Bengaluru and Coimbatore with 63.5K.

Advance bookings for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh are expected to begin on Tuesday evening. Cities like Kochi, Mumbai, and other big multiplex centers are yet to announce their booking windows. National multiplex chains are also delaying opening bookings, indicating a possible coordinated debut closer to the release date.

The enthusiasm is not restricted to India. Indian 2 has already sold $165,935 in premiere tickets in the United States alone, with a remarkable 7,441 sold-out seats over 885 shows in 315 locations. This amazing number is projected to increase further in the following days.

S. Shankar directs Indian 2, which stars Kamal Haasan, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, S. J. Suryah, Bobby Simha, and the late Vivek. With a gripping tale and great performances, Indian 2 is primed to set the worldwide box office on fire when it hits theaters on July 12th!
