The first aerial action thriller in India, Fighter, is the brainchild of Bollywood star Hrithik Roshan. Deepika Padukone plays the main female role in the film, which was directed by Siddharth Anand of Pathaan and War fame. In keeping with the Pathaan sentiment, the film premiered on January 25. Let’s check out the movie.

Story:

Top Indian Air Force pilots who suspect an enemy attack on the Srinagar base camp assemble a special team. This team includes Sartaj Gill (Karan Singh Grover), Minni Rathore, also known as Minni (Deepika Padukone), Shamsher Pathania, a.k.a. Patty (Hrithik Roshan), and a few others. Their CO is Rakesh Jai Singh, also known as Rocky (Anil Kapoor). The terrorist group Jaish-e-Mohammed assaults CRPF personnel one day. This sparks off a string of battles between the terrorists and India. The movie is about who emerged victorious in the end.

Bonus Points:

Fighter’s plot isn’t particularly original, much like Siddharth Anand’s previous films, but the director once again crafts a compelling story that keeps our interest for the most part. Character introductions take up the first forty minutes or so, after which the conflict is introduced. Aerial action blocks with good execution come next.

Bravo to the Fighter team for flawlessly executing every aerial combat scene. These combat scenes enhance the narrative by offering a fully immersive experience. To help us better comprehend and follow the aerial scenes, the team provided minute details. Fighter’s emotional moments, particularly in the second half, are yet another positive aspect of the film. Fighter does a good job of capturing the emotional depth that action movies typically lack. The impact of Ashutosh Rana’s cameo appearance is noteworthy.

In this chic action movie, Hrithik Roshan is adorable. Watching Hrithik Roshan’s commanding on-screen persona is always a pleasure. His charm, subtle acting, wit, and delivery of the dialogue all greatly enhance the film. He and Deepika Padukone get along well as well. The actress plays a good role in it. The movie’s flow is unaffected by the love track. In their respective parts, Anil Kapoor, Akshay Oberoi, and Karan Singh Grover are all excellent.

Negative Points:

Fighter’s soundtrack and song selection are disappointing. The background score isn’t that good, with the exception of the Vandemataram track. If this aspect had been improved, the impact might have been even greater. A few exchanges bring Uri to mind. There will inevitably be comparisons to other patriotic movies because the movie’s plot is based on a template.

Given its genre, the film may be more appealing to an urban than a rural audience. This could somewhat hurt the box office prospects. The pre-interval’s aerial action sequence is excellent, but the interval ends suddenly.

Technical Details:

As previously mentioned, the score and music are unsatisfactory. Regarding the other technical areas, Fighter receives a perfect score. Brilliant camera work was done by Satchith Paulose. It’s thrilling to watch the camera move during the jet fights. The film’s greatest USP is its well-executed visual effects. The editing is excellent.

As has always been his method, Siddharth Anand takes a well-known story and crafts a fairly engaging film. Siddharth did a fantastic job of picturing the aerial combat scenes. There should be extra praise for the action choreographers. The Air Force soldiers’ dog fights and their exchanges with the enemy are particularly interesting.

Conclusion:

All things considered, Fighter is an enjoyable aerial action movie that skillfully combines breathtaking action scenes with Hrithik Roshan’s strong performance. Although the plot isn’t particularly novel, Siddharth Anand makes sure there are never any boring moments in the film by packing it full of interesting scenes. Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, and Deepika Padukone are all good in their parts. In the second half, the emotions also come into play.
