Guntur Kaaram, Mahesh Babu’s Sankranti release, is nearing the end of its worldwide box office run. This is where it stands!
Mahesh Babu’s much-anticipated Sankranti release, Guntur Kaaram, has failed to meet expectations. After a strong start, the film lost momentum and slowed down significantly after the holiday season ended. As a result, it has remained below the lifetime collection of Mahesh Babu’s most recent release. Let’s see where it stands at the worldwide box office!
After a fantastic start, I suffered a dent from HanuMan
The film marked Mahesh Babu’s third collaboration with director Trivikram, so expectations were understandably high. Furthermore, the superstar was returning to the big screen after a one-and-a-half-year hiatus. With all the hype, the biggie got off to a great start in India, and paid premieres received a fantastic response overseas.
Guntur Kaaram clashed with Teja Sajja’s HanuMan. After a strong start, the Mahesh Babu starrer stalled, and the superhero film took over, even stealing a few screens. Teja Sajja’s film dominated India, and it won by a large margin in the international market.
Guntur Kaaram‘s current worldwide box office
In terms of box office revenue, Guntur Kaaram has earned 123 crores net in India, equivalent to 145.14 crores gross. Internationally, the film underperformed significantly, grossing only 32 crores. When both are combined, the total worldwide box office collection is 177.14 crores.
Stays beneath Sarkaru Vaari Paata.
The overseas run is almost dead, and the numbers coming in from India are negligible. As a result, it is clear that Guntur Kaaram will end up grossing far less than 200 crores. Surprisingly, the collection will remain below Mahesh Babu’s last film, Sarkaru Vaari Paata. For those unfamiliar, Sarkaru Vaari Paata had a global business of 189 crores gross and was an underperformer.

Sreeleela, Meenakshi Chaudhary, Ramya Krishna, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, and other actors play key roles in the film. Upon its release on January 12th, the biggie received mostly negative reviews from critics, with only Mahesh Babu’s performance praised.
