In case you missed it, the movie will be divided into two parts, with the first one being called Devara: Part 1. Originally slated for a summer 2024 release, the most recent official update states that it will now open in theaters on October 10, 2024, to take advantage of the Dussehra holidays.
Particularly in the Hindi market, Jr. NTR’s popularity has skyrocketed since RRR. Furthermore, the presence of Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor guarantees that the movie would draw attention from those beyond the restricted Telugu market. As a result, the demand is as high as projected throughout the nation, and according to recent developments, pre-release sales through cinema rights have reached about 250 crores.
By selling the theatrical rights, Devara has already made 247 crores, according to a report on Track Tollywood. Anil Thadani and Karan Johar paid 50 crores for the Hindi distribution rights for the Hindi version. Theatrical rights in Telugu are reportedly priced at 120 crores. The film is said to have made 50 crores for the Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages.
According to reports, Devara has received 27 crores for distribution in foreign markets. Adding up all of these numbers, the pre-release theatrical rights business is an amazing 247 crores.
In the meantime, Prakash Raj, Shine Tom Chacko, and other actors play significant roles in the movie. Although the precise amount is unknown, the behemoth is rumored to be a costly movie with a budget above 250 crores.
