Story:
Sachin, a shy engineering graduate played by Naslen K. Gafoor, has a chance to come across a girl who he eventually falls in love with, but instead of popping the big question, the poor man gets stage fright. He intends to do this by finding employment in the U.K. after completing his studies, but he was turned down for a visa. Feeling awkward about staying there he agrees to go to Hyderabad with his friend Amal Davis, for Sangeeth Prathap plays the character of Amal Davis, who planning to prepare for GATE.
Sachin is attending a friend’s wedding in Hyderabad and he falls for Reenu, Portrayed by Mamitha Baiju at first sight. In the film, we follow a boy named Sachin, through the events of his love with Reenu, friendship and family pressure. There are so many humorous incidents, misunderstandings, and emotional and growth episodes in the story at the event of which Sachin tries to woo Reenu but owing to their regional background create trouble together.

The cinematography is done by Ajmal Sambu and it depicts the cheerful locations of Hyderabad and the tender scenes in the protagonists’ relationship. Akash Joseph and Varghese have done a good job in editing so that continuity and overall development as a narrative is sustained, but the rhythm suffers somewhat.

Performance:
Erasing’s performance was very impressive especially the act by Naslen K. Gafoor who convincingly portrays the character of Sachin with a determined feeling to change from being a shy boy to a man who dares to fight for his emotions. His capacity to depict weakness and persuasiveness makes this hero likeable. Mamitha Baiju plays Reenu and she plays it well and with much conviction. Sangeeth Prathap cast as Amal is the part of comedy in the movie and also a good companion of Sachin’s character. Sachin plays the role of an innocent man while Shyam Mohan as Aadhi, the antagonist convinces and cuts out the villainy in him perfectly. The versatile colourful cast consisting of Akhila Bhargavan and Meenakshi Raveendran adds much cheer to the movie and while it has interesting supporting characters some of them could have been developed better.

Premalu is an absolute gem! From my perspective, I have seen it twice; and right now, I plan to watch it for the third time because that is how good it is. This film made me laugh from the beginning to the end due to its perfect humour, as well as the perfect storyline. Special mention to Naslen for his convincing portrayal of Sachin, Mamitha for Reenu, Shyam for Adhi and Sangeeth for Amal as all the characters look and feel like real people.
However, what stands out most to me when it comes to Premalu is that it’s highly reusable. Every time I give this movie a second watch, I realize there’s something I enjoyed more this time than the previous – it could be the dialogues or the camaraderie between cast members. It is one of those films that effectively can be watched again and again, as with every turning it looks better.
