Out of love for her mother and out of desire for motherhood, Anvitha needs to find the sperm donor who suits her best. Her friend Kavya (Sonia Deepti) has made her understand that she is in search of a sperm donor as any normal woman on any business trip. They meet a young, good-looking Sidhu (Naveen Polishetty) who works as a stand-up comic during the night. Sidhu failed to know the real motives of Anvitha he concluded that the actions of an interested party were of a romantic nature.
The movie tries to turn out to be a comedy-drama of an elaborate misunderstanding around romantic interest where both Anvitha and Sidhu come to discover something about themselves. Review
The film Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty has received a much-needed happy meter mixed audience response as several viewers appreciated the energetic performances; the movie makes fun of serious topics. An appreciation from the following audiences is suggested by the following symbols.
Plus Points
- Strong Performances: Nobody else could have done justice to Anvitha than Anushka Shetty who is very emotional and charming in the movie. The versatile actor Naveen Polishetty, who plays Sidhu, does a fantastic job too of adding humour and normalcy to Sidhu’s persona.
- Unique Premise: Romania’s subject of a woman who wants to have a child as a part of a couple, and who will do it through artificial insemination, injects the audience with interest into the tired format of romantic comedies.
- Humour and Wit: There is a right amount of humour that is used within the movie, and at the same time it is a story with with some deep emotions.
- Cultural Relevance: They are all reminiscent of the issues that are considered essential for a contemporary film about love, relationships and expectations.
Minus Points
- Predictable Plot: Despite the originality of the concept some of the actions are more typical of romantic comedies, thus some scenes are rather clichéd for audiences who watch multiple films.
- Pacing Issues: If there is a weakness in the film, then its pacing is deserving of that label owing especially to the long initial sequences used in establishing character backgrounds.
- Limited Character Development: Some characters are fairly one-dimensional and it would have been helpful if there were more ‘background’ they could bring to a position.
Technical Aspects
Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty has a runtime of 147 minutes and is presented in a 2.39:1 aspect ratio. Nirav Shah provides skilful cinematography and gives due attention to the specially designed colourful environment and emotional scenes. Kotagiri Venkateswara Rao outdoes himself in the editing department to keep the necessary continuity in an otherwise uneven pace.
The songs that are composed by Radhan for songs while the background score is created by Gopi Sundar have helped set the right mood of the film in both a romantic as well as comical sense. Lively tunes in the soundtrack sum up the mood of the movie well and thus are put in addition to the attraction of the movie.
Performance
Anushka Shetty has given a commendable performance in her role of Anvitha and has depicted the film’s playback of emotion and resolve well enough. This makes her a believable and likeable main character being both fragile and strong at once. Naveen Polishetty looks as lovely as Sidhu, and he knows exactly how to make people laugh. This makes following his character’s arc throughout the film interesting and adds another layer to his narrative alongside Anvitha.
The artists supporting the film like Murali Sharma and Tulasi give a steady performance to the movie that holds flair on the movie. However, certain characters could be given more depth and then make it possible to speak of a versatile ensemble.
MoviePopTime Review:
From watching the movie titled Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty I got some positive feelings. The movie has Anushka Shetty playing the role of a master chef who wants to have a baby without getting married. She actively pursues him while he also showiness shows interest in her making them an interesting pair, and there is comical appeal in Naveen Polishetty. Half of the film seemed monotonous, but once Naveen’s character joined the cast, you see funny moments and twists in the film. The two leads were excellent- Anushka especially gave an emotional depth and Naveen was very jokes.
Despite the simplicity with which the writer develops his/ her ideas and the inevitability of the plot, one can see that the film combines both comedy and tragedy throughout the storyline. All in all, it is a romantic comedy, not academically deep, but light, funny, and fulfilling as a romantic comedy should be, so it’s a yes from me.
