It traces the stories of Krishna, a young man, a businessman and an industrialist by trade who has done an MBA from Harvard. Now when 32, he is exploring pressure from society but he is not willing to tie the knot. He sets an unexpected turn in life when he has an encounter with Pranaya (Malavika Nair), the lady who owns an orphanage. Through her commitment and sweet disposition, Krishna takes up a challenge to seduce to her without her knowing he is a prince by hiring a job as her driver.

Another example is a rich lady Jahnavi played by Sharanya Shetty, who would do anything to get married to Krishna. When Krishna is conflicted between his soft feelings towards Pranaya and the demands of his family as well as Jahnavi’s attempts to get affection from him the story becomes both humorous and romantic.

Review:

On one hand, the storyline of the show “Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi” may not be original to its totality in fact, the plot is interesting to the viewers who watch romantic comedy shows. However, the movie is not very appealing and feels much like a regular Bollywood formula movie and because of this audiences would not be very keen on catching this movie but the acting of Ganesh and the on-screen chemistry between the two main lead actors are so good that the audience can sit through the entire length of the movie perfectly knowingly. The film is funny and romantic to a considerable extent and maybe needs better storytelling.

Positives:

  • Charismatic Performances: Over Ganesh excels in the role of KrishnaPRETTY charm and humour are reflected in this role. Pranaya was well portrayed and in my opinion, Malavika Nair has perfectly justified to be Pranaya and she has essayed the role well and while acting before the camera she has done wonderful.
  • Engaging Humor: It is also the key concept to mention that there are several scenes in the movie, that can be classified as comical and which give addition to the given movie plot as comedic scenes.
  • Catchy Music: The music directed by Arjun Janya was good for this film as many songs were good and quite Interesting None of the songs were interesting in the film so no particular song was appreciated or disliked depending on interest.

Negatives:

  • Predictable Plot: It contains all the typical features inherent in many films of this romance comedy which will not be interesting for those who have seen many films of this type.
  • Pacing Issues: Before proceeding though, it is important to acknowledge that there are specific sequences in the film that render it a little uninteresting at times, or somewhat overlong.
  • Underdeveloped Supporting Characters: While the leads are three-dimensional, some of the characters lack the same, and one feels they could use more characterization.

Technical Aspects:

  • Direction: The direction by Srinivas Raju speaks of some talent but the picturisation is fatally prone to some of the trappings associated with the genre blitz.
  • Cinematography: The settings indicated in the film are pleasant and the genre of the film does a rather good job of delivering visions that can be appreciated.
  • Editing: There was also inadequate editorial work to identify the right fast vent and maintain the proper rhythm for the audience in this category.

Performance:

Ganesh could not have been better suited for the role of Krishna: he has both elegance and vulnerability. I liked what Malavika Nair who portrayed Pranaya did well; it appeared as if the real them were portraying their respective roles. Sharanya Shetty gives a firm backing for Jahnavi, other support characters also contribute well to the story.

Moviepoptime Review:

What a great movie to watch!? The one thing that I liked and that made me think it was not a problem to stay engaged all the time was that it was an utterly new idea. Even the humour was fabulous, and there were so many times that one could burst out laughing, literally making the entire crowd belly laugh. Comedy elevated the aspect of the story and made it not only funny but also quite philosophical. It was a great movie to watch and I would recommend this to anyone who asks for a good movie to take them through a fun day at the theatre.

Conclusion:

It would not be wrong to call the movie ‘Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi’, a romantic comedy film and one has to give credit to the attempts to blend comedy at one end and some romantic scenes at the other. Although it did not come up with the presentation of a new storytelling style and has those scenes which are slow tempo, it is recommended to watch Gangs of Wasseypur because of the performers, more especially Ganesh. Besides love and family depiction the movie also has jokes aimed at the audience who wants a jovial and all-happy movie.

On balance “Krishnam Pranaya Sakhi” a movie worth seeing and a delightful experience for Kannada cinema-lovers is the right cocktail which will be appreciated by lovers of light romantic comedy.
