Story:
This film is centred on a lady named Bea portrayed by Sydney Sweeney and a man by the name of Ben portrayed by Glen Powell who hardly converses throughout their date. The feelings change from love to hatred because of a conflict of interest in the relationship. But they wind up reacquainting during a wedding in Australia and then agree to pose as a couple to deal with social situations.
That is why they allow themselves stages of performances where they face their feelings for each other surrounded by hilarity and romance. It is a love story that traverses identification and commodification and culture and where the audience will be offered a good dose of comedy.
Review:
Some critics are very positive in their opinions toward “Anyone But You”, while there are those that are highly negative. Some players suggest that casts deliver happiness and comedy through the snazzy gags, some others complain that the story is not strikingly different from other romantic comedies. Furthermore, if the person is interested in watching Lust which is filled with serial killers, there is not much expectation needed for this movie.
Positives:
- Strong Chemistry: The exciting and rather flirtatious screen presence that has been built between Sydney Sweeney and Glen Powell breathes character into almost every aspect of the romantic comedy that the film is.
- Humorous Moments: It contains quite many scenes within the movie that are seriously funny as you will expect in a romantic comedy.
- Visual Appeal: Thus, thanks to the desire to shoot memorable scenes, the audience can follow the fantastic Australian landscapes becoming an addition to the movie’s style and background main plot.
Negatives:
- Predictable Plot: All the same the storyline is rather familiar for romantic comedies and the most devoted fans could find this is rather predictable.
- Pacing Issues: Steady maestro is ever particularly slightly comes across as slow at certain times and lacks emphatic urgency in certain scenes.
- Underdeveloped Supporting Characters: The leads come off splendidly, and their character has been adequately developed, but the same cannot be said of many of the supporting characters as the audiences are given hardly enough to get a good feel of their personalities.
Technical Aspects:
- Direction: While the style of Will Gluck’s direction is not a disaster, there are some scenes in the film that seem to be supplied too typical as many Romantic comedies usually are.
- Cinematography: Cinematography is also well done as close-up scenes are shown with other beautiful Australian scenery.
- Editing: For the most part the editing does provide with pretty good pace but there can be more rigidity in some of these sequences for continuity.
Technical Aspects:
Sydney Sweeney also represents the actress’s condition perfectly during the movie as Bea and the audience can observe her weakness and defying spirit. Glen Powell completely nails the character of Ben – he is charming and funny. Alexandra Shipp has backing as does GaTa although both require more meaningful character progressions.
Moviepoptime Review:
The present man candy in this eye-popping romantic comedy is Glenn Powell. What’s more, Sydney is a greater character actor than she was in White Lotus because of her appearance and her voice. She is not appropriate for the part of the love interest, however. However, no one can argue that she was good at her job of acting.
If one wants an ideal distraction it is a feel-light movie with great-looking locations in Australia and, as a rule, good-looking folks. Glenn certainly looks like he has plenty of commercial potential, so I would like him to try himself in something more tragical. I have my doubts about whether he can handle these facile roles and excel in vulgar sentimentality over melody of pitch, in portraying the role over the persona.
Conclusion:
(In fact ‘Anyone But You’ is a well-crafted romantic comedy film with a good dose of comedy and romance at the same time.) It may not bring a lot of changes if talking about the plot and may have problems with pacing but Sweeney and Powell give a fantastic show to watch for the lover of the thriller films. As a light comedy-drama that deals with the factors of love and identity of two young men in the beautiful landscape of Australia, Anyone But You should therefore appeal to anyone with an interest in feel-good features.
