Bhimaa had a good start at the box office, but collections dropped over the course of the week. Will the film’s budget be recovered?
During its first seven days of release, Tottempudi Gopichand’s fantasy action drama Bhimaa did not receive positive reviews from critics and had a mediocre box office performance.
Bhimaa, directed by A Harsha and produced by Sri Sathya Sai Arts, stars Gopichand alongside Priya Bhavani Shankar, Malvika Sharma, Vennela Kishore, and Nassar in key roles. In its first week at the Indian box office, the Tollywood film made an estimated 9.08 crore net. But after a strong first day, the movie’s performance was hampered by a sharp decline in receipts.
Bhimaa Had a Good Start, But Oversold During the Weekend
With a respectable 2.9 crore on opening day, the movie gave rise to expectations for a prosperous run. On the second day, though, the collections decreased to 2 crore. On the third day, the movie only made 1.6 crore, continuing this downward trend.
Weekdays Persisting The Recession
Even after a dull premiere weekend, Bhimaa didn’t gain much traction during the workdays. There was a sharp decline to 0.8 crore on day four, and further drops to 0.65 crore on day five, 0.55 crore on day six, and 0.58 crore on day seven.
Diminished Weekday Figures Ask Concerns Regarding Performance in the Second Week
Although the movie’s first-week total might seem respectable at first glance, the sharp drop in receipts following the opening day raises questions about how well it will do at the box office over the long run. An estimated 28 crore will go towards making Bhimaa, including fees for other services and promotion. In the upcoming weeks, it will be interesting to see if Bhimaa is able to bounce back and find commercial success. The movie’s performance in theaters gives the impression that it may have trouble making up its cost.
