Review:

  • Koratala Siva is also directing Devara which has Jr NTR in two different roles with Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. As any other Southeast Asian film it portrays life near the sea and employs themes of revenge, loyalty, and performance as personal and social functions established in a plot that shifts between the 1980s and 1990s.
  • The story centres on Devara (NTR) a pirate who later wants to quit pirate life after developing a change of heart. His decision brings out the problem by supporting the former allies as seen by Bhaira (Saif Ali Khan) who becomes the main antagonist. The audience is drifted impressed with NTR and showing how capable an artist he is by sending his performance, especially in action scenes. They stress that he is the only important plus of the film that indeed has a very weak and ordinary plot and an unchangeable rhythm that makes the viewers feel bored.
  • Despite its critical acclaim for its graphic presentation and intense motion picture action including great fight scenes, the movie has been accused of having the action but without passion. Although much was expected of Janhvi Kapoor on her Telugu debut portraying Thangam, her characterization is quite weak and has registered much less screen time than users expected. Anirudh Ravichander has also done decent when comes to music trapping and has been quite particularly appreciated for some great struggling music in some scenes.
  • In general, even if the latter is not rich in a story and characters, Devara was recognized by the public and received different reactions and comments. Still, some people like its humorous nature and the display of lights while others say it was disappointing. In conclusion, Devara may well be another mammoth festival that has gathered its director NTR along with an ideal cast but unfortunately, unlike the cast, it falls flat and leaves the audience non-plussed to say the bare minimum.

Positives:

  • Jr NTR proves his mettle once again with solid performances in Devara Part 1 with two characters, Devara and Vara mesmerizing the spectators. Next to Devara who is an example of humility and destructiveness, Vara portrays innocence and cowardice as he is seen in the character he plays. He can do both with ease and pulls out a great performance.
  • Saif Ali Khan gives his best in a Tollywood debut as Bhaira who acts on revenge against Devara. Janhvi Kapoor is fine, and whoever said that she does not have chemistry with young NTR must not have seen this film.
  • These scenes include the most identities—action scenes are meant to be fantastic, they are set to create positive loud responses. In addition, some dialogues aerate the personality of Devara and add a fun factor to this show. Many music directors fail to come up with good songs but Shanker –Ehsaan – and Loy have surely proved their mettle with the songs, Support roles by Srikanth, Prakash and others are appreciable.

Negatives:

  • Unfortunately, more often it is close to being a trivial fairy tale where much can be foreseen beforehand. Koratala Siva could have made slight modifications in a few areas but in the second half, the screenplay was pretty average.
  • Some sequences fail to receive the kind of attention they need and proper management of such sequences could have significantly affected the film.
  • It has some beautiful moments but again, Janhvi Kapoor gets too little screen time that her fans might not get the chance to see her performance. Prakash Raj has done a decent job, however he might have been apt if there was more focus on his past.
  • Saif’s part also appears to be limited in the second half though the climax comes in a sudden shock.

Technical Aspects:

  • It is equally well done by Siva Koratala as both writer-director though the writing seems to lack some polish, particularly in the end scenes. Used in the right manner, the graphic novel could offer richer seed plots in terms of emotion than a simplistic character portrayal.
  • The lens by Ratnavelu is impressive as well as AR RAHMAN’s first cousin Anirudh Ravichander’s music makes the movie enthralling. Sreekar Prasad’s editing work is just about acceptable, the second half could have been better in building up climaxes. The body movement sequences are quite good; the cinematography adopted is also excellent.

Performance:

  • Devara, a movie directed by Koratala Siva which was released on September 27, 2024, has seen much consideration afterwards. The movie also features Jr. NTR in two different avatars with Saif Ali Khan and Janhvi Kapoor. It was able to post fantastic box office collections; within the first week of its release, it collected between ₹ 131-137 crore at the worldwide box office making it one of the highest-grossing movies of the year.
  • Stunts and power, which Jr. NTR portrayed, were appreciated by critics and Saif Ali Khan as the role of a villain. But the people don’t like the performance of Janhvi Kapoor Because her character has no arc. Thus, the film has high-energy action scenes and visuals that helped the movie to become a mass entertainer.
  • Although having received conflicting reactions about the speed and the plot of the movie, Devara is touted as a grand success of Telugu cinema and entertaining fans across the world with Jr. NTR’s charisma.

Moviepoptime Review:

The main actor was extremely gifted. By the feeling of the background, it appears quite new. It is good with new kinds of action stunts, musical scores and background music. I just noticed that having like 3-4 songs in the case of this movie was refreshing, in my opinion. Hope to be able to watch again to have that particular feeling once more.

All the other crews were acceptable, the sea and water episode VFX would have to be called top of the range, to some extent we would have to say. I enjoyed dancing and the way the actor delivered dialogues and those stunts which the lead role did. I can barely differentiate him from the person he portrayed so Spoofed was quite convincing and forceful to a certain extent I am eager to see more of this actor’s movies. Thumbs up!

Conclusion:

On the whole, Devara: Action is delivered by Part 1 which is a drama entertainment. Pawan Kalyan Jr NTR is the heart and soul of the film, the same holds for Janhvi Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan who are equally impressive in the film. On the negative side, there is a stereotype narrative and sometimes you just get plain bored, particularly in the second part of the movie. Don’t miss out – book your tickets now and give your weekend a great start.
