Review:

Tentatively titled ‘Honeymoon Express’, is a Telugu romantic comedy that was released under Bala Rajasekharuni after such Telugu films as ‘Al surrenders’ starring Chaitanya Rao and Hebah Patel depicting the struggle of married couple Eeshan and Sonali. Among them, when counselling fails they decide to try a second honeymoon based on the advice found from an elder couple they meet during the journey.

On the other hand, the case of love and reconciliation which is well depicted in the movie has a lot of blants including; a bad script, and too many twists which are very cliché. Though there are many actors and actresses, they do not suit each other and the hero and heroine do not look like portraying the emotions they should do. Does the film receive moments of boredom because of it? pace and contains unneeded science fiction components.

Although having some bouncy tracks by Kalyani Malik, “Honeymoon Express” is nothing more than an amateurish effort to set a scene for contemporary relationships. They know it is not exactly humorous or romantic for people who are passionate about the concept of love.

Positives:

  • Relatable Premise: Indeed this kind of plot in this movie is real, where a young couple is in a marriage and experiencing some marital issues that people in the current society face can relate to.
  • Chaitanya Rao’s Performance: Here, I believe Chaitanya Rao stands out by portraying the role that he plays and also portraying the emotions as well as the initial evolution of the character.
  • Kalyani Malik’s Music: Kalyani Malik scores music and the film has good songs that fit well into the movie and at the same time are interesting.

Negatives:

  • Inconsistent Writing: Complicating the events at the resort, the screenplay tries to be quite inventive at the same time it fails to be consistent in the flow of the story.
  • Familiar Plot: The story, thinking of how original the idea was to create the movie, is quite normal and characteristic for the kind of film it is, yet there were times during the watching of the picture which reminded me of the feeling when you think you’ve seen it all somewhere before.
  • Uneven Pacing: Needless to imply, the flow of this movie is irregular, the second part seems vulgar and tedious in comparison with the first part.

Technical Aspects:

  • Direction: It is wise to attempt to balance humour love angle and satire in one film but these elements could have been handled far better by Director Bala Rajasekharuni.
  • Editing: Though the editing work carried out by Umashankar Gummadidala appears to be satisfactory the fundamental issues of flow in the movie do not improve greatly.
  • Cinematography: Regarding the cinematography, VM Sistla has done a quite good job, but cannot be told that it is superb; the colours nicely match the atmosphere of the resorts.

Performances:

Chaitanya Rao and Hebah Patel both do well for the leading pair. Between the two members, Chaitanya Rao needed to act more because he was very expressive in acting the scenes of the film While Hebah Patel provided the beauty of the film. Tanikella Bharani and Suhasini Mani Ratnam do well and, although some of the scenes they share lack subtlety, they are faintly amusing at times. Again, Arvind Krishna, Ali as Chinnu, Surekha Vani and Ravi Varma offer a considerable contribution in their brief appearances.

Moviepoptime Review:

Chaitanya Rao has given a good account of himself. The body language of acting done by Hebah Patel is mind-blowing. Though Suhasini Mani Ratnam and Tanikella Bharani have made some special appearances, the episodes are nice. What the direction is very good at is creating teasers and trailers. It is a nice story with good actors. It is a joy to watch. The storyline was interesting to me and, of course, outstanding performances. It is also fitting as regards the kind of songs that was used especially in scenes that bring out different emotions.

Every character is believable and fits the plot well into the story. An adapted successful action film with convincing actors on the screen. I loved the fun in the film. I like its songs and its arrangements are appropriate to each scene. All in all this movie is crammed up with passion and the director Bala Rajasekharuni has tried his level best.

Conclusion:

“Honeymoon Express” is a rather suspenseless romantic drama painted in a key of real-life relations between today’s couples. Though the film’s concept is understandable and the leads have offered appreciable performances, the problem in the screenplay, clichéd storyline and the rather unequal rhythm hinder the film at its best. However, the second half of the film contains pleasantly good soundtracks and colourful visuals. Therefore, the movie entitled “Honeymoon Express” is well all right for viewing and the story plasticity of marital conflicts can be assessed as rather correct, and, perhaps, might receive, quite an average, but not extremely high appreciation from the viewers.
