Samantha Ruth Prabhu, an actress from Telugu, has drawn criticism for supposedly “misleading” her 33 million Instagram followers about “detoxing the liver.” Samantha was criticized earlier this week by a liver specialist for including “some random health illiterate” on her podcast series about health. The physician, also known as The Liver Doc on X, accused the actress and her podcast guest of sharing their “ignorance” about health and medicine in a lengthy post on his official account.
“This is Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a film star, misleading and misinforming over 33 million followers on ‘detoxing the liver,'” the doctor wrote, sharing a clip of Samantha’s podcast from her YouTube channel, in which her guest discussed the value of herbs like dandelion in promoting liver health.
“The podcast features a random health illiterate “Wellness Coach & Performance Nutritionist” who has no idea how the human body functions and posts the most ridiculous stuff on Instagram, including absurd things like using herbs to treat autoimmune disorders,” the doctor went on. I have no idea how individuals with large followings identify the least knowledgeable about science and invite them to speak on science, medicine, and health on “health podcasts” that have no real connection to either of those topics. It’s just two ignorant people discussing science. The Wellness Coach guy isn’t even a licensed medical professional, so it’s unlikely that he knows anything about how the liver works.
“This is complete & utter BS (bullsh*t),” he continued, “I am a liver doctor, a trained & registered hepatologist diagnosing and treating liver disease patients for one decade.”
Samantha Ruth Prabhu had to take a hiatus from acting the previous year due to an autoimmune condition called myositis.
She last appeared with Vijay Deverakonda in Kushi. The actress recently shared her thoughts on her choice to take a year off from work. In an interview with Femina, she stated, “It was the best decision because there’s no way I could have continued working.” It’s difficult to manage the condition and the stress of working together. I’m so happy I gave myself some time to heal after 13 years of nonstop work.
Despite experiencing periods of extremely low confidence and self-loathing, I’ve always made an effort to improve myself. Gaining more insight into my fears and self-loathing accompanied that growth. By addressing the inner trauma that required more healing than any temporary external solution, I was able to heal instead of trying to fix them from the outside, the woman said.
